Easter handmade

I don't like to give my nieces and nephews too many chocolates at Easter, between gifts from the bunny himself and friends they end up with a mountain of chocolate so I keep it simple.  I made some bunny biscuits wrapped them up and finished with some washi tape and placed them in a bunny bag I made from recycled wrapping paper along with a few little eggs and a little gift either handmade or bought.
For my little niece I made a set of handmade bunny pyjamas using some flannel I had left over from a previous project which kept costs low

and a rabbit softie for my young nephew with fabric in my stash.
I really enjoy the making of gifts, it's getting harder for the older ones though, luckily I still have little nieces and nephews to make for. Do you give chocolate for Easter or do you have some great non-chocolate gifts you give to children?

  1. What gorgeous Easter gifts. I particularly love your rabbit. I made rabbit beanbags for Ginger this Easter and she also got a handful of small Easter eggs. Not that she knew what to do with the latter, we found her 'cooking' the eggs in her play kitchen later that day.

I found little eggs with baby beanie kid bunnies and chicks...not as nice as your handmade but kept the choc-overload down

  4. Delightful! It does get harder when they get older. Maybe covered journals or bookmarks might be nice.

  5. Your handmade gifts are adorable Catherine :)
It was just us and our children this Easter so things were kept very low key but in the past I have enjoyed giving a bit of both.

  9. What a lovely generous crafter you are! I tend to make things for myself or the kids and find it hard to give things away. :) I do so love that bunny especially. We give Cohen half and half, chocolate and gifts. He likes chocolate, but it doesn't always seem to like him.

  10. What beautiful gifts to make and give Catherine...i keep saying it but you really are so clever and creative! I would love to make that softie bunny...was it hard?!We gave the girls a tiny taste of choc and they both spat it out and Tara declared it 'guk' so i'm thinking we shall stick with gifts instead of eggs for as long as possible lol!!!
