45/365 Toddler Days

Today I got back to my early job days/mothering days and took care of my beautiful neighbours little girl.  It was a whirlwind kind of day going from this activity to the next activity as toddlers like to do. It's been so long now since my girls were toddlers and that I have been whizzing around after them. It was fun day and it was lovely to see some of their old toys coming out and being enjoyed by another little girl once again.

This year I have had a few changes to deal with, nothing too major, going on adventures, friendships changing and some ending and learning to grow with my growing and changing children. These changes have been hard at times but things happen for a reason and so I am learning to accept things that are sometimes out of my control, which isn't always easy. Anyway I decided just the other day when I went to the hairdressers today that another change was needed, to cut my long hair, to feel refreshed.

After the new do, we headed to the art gallery for lunch and to catch up with family. The Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane is hosting the Ron Mueck exhibition and thought it would interesting to go and have a look. The attention to detail in his work was amazing, like hands pressing against the skin, the stubble over the man's face and the expressions on the faces of all the people. There was one of an old woman lying in a bed that looked so sad that you felt you knew what she was feeling. Afterwards we walked across to the Queensland Art Gallery where we walked through the exhibition of hats. They were fasinating and such an array of classical and creative designs. Once at the end the children were able to create their own hat with cardboard and crepe paper which kept them and me busy for some time. If you are in the Brisbane area both of these exhibts are a must see.

I hope that you all had a great Saturday! Did you get up to anything exciting? I love to hear what you've been up to.

Enjoy your Sunday.
