233/365 'Lovely Links'

It has been super cold and miserable here today.  I'm not complaining though, it's been the perfect day to stay huddled up inside, do some internet exploring, crocheting, making some yummy choc chip pikelets using this recipe (just adding a couple of tablespoons of choc chips) and watching the odd children's movie or two or three.  So what lovely links have I for you today......

If you love to try new foods like me I found this new to me website full of delicious raw recipes. On my list to try is this, this, this and this. And still continuing with the raw food theme I wouldn't mind trying this cauliflower rice recipe. And yet another gorgeous food related website I happened across is this one by Masha Zaric. She blogs from Canberra and is also a very talented photographer.  I first discovered her work through Oscar and Lucinda. So I sat there scrolling through her blog and admiring her work and found this fantastic post that I think explains aperture beautifully.  She also holds workshops for those who live in the Canberra area, it's a shame I'm not a little closer...

Since I've just recently finished one big crochet project I thought it might be best not to embark on another so soon.  I have two other projects that need my attention most importantly a quilt for Miss 10. So what to make when one wants to crochet but doesn't want a big commitment, a dishcloth. I searched and found this simple crochet pattern.

Crochet Links

Today it rained for the first time in ages, it was so nice to hear the rain on the roof, to see my newly planted seedlings getting watered in, to know that my water tank would now have water in it and it was also nice to be able to snuggle inside for a change.  So while I was enjoying the cooler weather I was also enjoying a bit of time getting lost in the inspiration on the web. I'm not on pinterest but I love looking at it and today I looked a bit.  I found someones crochet boards and I got lost in the lovely projects they had pinned and thought I'd show you what I found, you might even see something you might like to give a try. I loved the idea of making this sweet little dream catcher, tutorial found here.

This simple but clever idea of making a tag I thought would make a great gift idea for a teacher or maybe a child along with a book.

And how about this crochet pouch, you can never have enough little pouches/purses can you?

I love making things for little babies and with a new niece to make things for I found this bonnet pattern that would look so sweet on her.

And how nice does this crochet hanging basket look?  I like the look of the natural twine used in crochet.

I thought I would share with you a couple of new blogs that I've found recently that you might want to have a little peek at too.  I found Lutter Idyl a few days ago and although I can't understand stand what's written, the photos are amazing and she also is a creator of beautiful crochet pieces.

My dream one day is for our family to live on acreage and so I love to see others experience living on the land and seeing their adventure and dreams come alive.  Today I discovered the Ngo Family Farm blog.  A newish blog sharing their journey through beautiful photos on the other side of the world in Colorado.

And if you are not too Christmased out yet I found a couple of Christmas activities I've bookmarked for next year.  The first is this great idea for either a craft activity to do with the children or as a gift idea for young children, gingerbread playdough it sounds fun doesn't it.

I thought this sweet little house would be a lovely little decoration to have on display.
