Weekly Stills

1. A bit of baking not quite a favourite.  The chocolate chip biscuits I made as well were eagerly eaten though.
2 & 3. All about love.  A handmade card made by me to give to my hubby and a delicious creation made by Miss 9 especially for her Dad.  She spend quite a bit of time carving this master piece.
4, 5 & 6. A visit to a favourite vintage shop. Did you have a Sindy doll growing up?  I did and I only ever had one Barbie doll, I do wish I kept them.

7. I love old brick buildings full of character.

8. Standing on the front porch watching the rain fall and one of my favourite succulent plants.

9. A couple of treasures I bought on my little wander.

10. The progress on my shawl.

Our weekend was a good one, it was full of glitter, her first school dance and boy is she a groover:).

Little bits of love and sweetness in my day.

Full of colour with new plants going in the garden, bringing some spring to our yard and making me smile.

Lots of gardening, tidying, getting those feel good endorphins going and getting a good workout at the same time.

Party preparations, not much left to do now.

I haven't shared with you some of the treasures I've bought recently. This year my daughter is turning 13 and after a chat we thought a high tea would be a nice way for her to celebrate.  So I've been slowly buying tea cups sets for her special day.  I have collected 2 for her and I have one of my own, I will still look for 3 more so it will be a small get together but I like them the best.  I will go looking for some pink for Miss 8 so when the girls are older each of them will have a set each in their favourite colours.

I spotted these old knives in an antique shop locally, just a little one that is reasonably priced and thought that they would go well with the old feel of her party.

This set of spoons I happened upon in op shop for a total of $10 I couldn't believe my luck.  I was thinking of making some of the spoons into these to give as a gift, is that bad since they are so old and lovely?  I often wonder how much you should keep an item original and how much is ok to change, what do you think?

Treasures

Today I was on a mission to find a pretty plate and an old knife to use on the weekend when I take along a cheese ball to my friends baby shower. Did I really need it, no not really but I wanted something old, I've grown to love old things they have a history to them, a nice feel to them.

I don't really have many things given down to me from family so for me some of these new treasures I want to hand down to my girls.

They may have a past history which I don't know but I think makes them even nicer and now we will treasure them and we will be a part of their history.

Another meme another post, I've now well and truly made my quota for blogtober if it's numbers, I've now done 31 posts in a row, a first for me.  Anyway this week I stopped off at the church op shop and picked up a couple of things.  A cane basket (without the pretty bow) that is now filled with books to help the little one to read a little more often, a snow globe to add to the little one's collection, a doily for 20 cents,  the spoons I picked up at the same place the other week for 20 cents and the milk glass vase I bought over the school holidays at a new op shop but I hadn't shared it with you.

Did you treat yourself

to a yummy day?  Today instead of going home after dropping off the girls at school, I went into town and bought a couple of treats.

My littlest was feeling a bit sad so I visited a favourite op shop and bought this sweet little 1980 Strawberry Shortcake vase for her

as well as one for the big girl in her favourite colour.

A trip to a couple of other shops and I came home with some yummy treasures, a vintage sheet, doily and a Johnson plate. They were mine to take home for the sum of $3.20.  It was definitely a nice little distraction from the housework today.

I've been busy having fun visiting some of our local op shops recently, some I've been to before and also a couple of new places.  At one of the new places the other day I spotted this mirror and just knew with a bit of paint it would be a great addition to the big girls room so today I went back to buy it, luckily it was still there.

And these lovely bits of fabric I picked up from my regular, go to op shop.  The brown fabric is an old curtain, the browns caught my eye and I thought it would be perfect for a bit of wall art for my craft room. Not sure what to do with the other fabrics yet, I really like the idea of a picnic rug using vintage fabrics. I'd also really like to find some of that bright vintage fabric I've seen in blog land but I haven't had any luck yet.
