Friday, the last day of the working week for many, also my favourite day. Today was housework day with although is quite tiring, I still like the finished product even if it only lasts for a couple of hours. This afternoon we had another storm which cooled things off nicely and the light it produced was beautiful too. So in the last light of the afternoon, I stood in my room and folded the basket of washing, enjoying nature and the start of the weekend.

My Place and Yours - Kitchen Love
So today Nic and Tracey wanted us to show you what we love most about our kitchen at first I wasn't sure what to show because I don't really have any nic nacs I keep on show but then with a bit of thought I came up with my window and the view that I get out of the window of the backyard. When we renovated the house 6 years ago we put an extra room on the back (it was only a little 2 bedroom house) along with a deck. The deck comes off the kitchen so we put in a bifold window which is one thing we decided to spend the extra money on and we love it. Because the kitchen is at the back of the house I can be in there cooking dinner when the girls are outside playing and it's also a great space in summer to have dinner together.
Anyway thanks for stopping by and checking out my kitchen. If you pop over to Vic's you'll find some more kitchen love.

My Place and Yours - Through the front door
So I thought I would give you a sneak in my front door. We have two sets of front doors, one set that lead on to the porch and the next is into the house. This is the view from the first set of doors.
When we bought the house the door was a lovely dirty pink until we got it stripped back and then we stained it, not sure what colour now though.
Thanks for stopping by and visiting my front door. You can check out more over here at Pip's!

My Place and Yours - My Bedside Table
I thought I would play along again with Pip's game of show and tell. So I will admit that I took a few photos and put them up on my computer and I couldn't believe the dust I could see on some of my things. I really do dust each week but I some how miss the little bits and pieces so I did give it a bit of a wipe and take two, this is photo I have for you.
On my bedside table you can see my crystal tray which I bought to go with the crystal jewellery box that my Nan gave to me when I was young. A candle that probably should go in the bin because it's pretty much finished, a little rabbit that my Miss 5 painted and insisted be on my bedside table, some perfume, a crystal butterfly from my hubby, a little keepsake my brother bought back from Scotland and lastly a brooch which was my grandmother's which she wore when she did highland dancing. It doesn't change and I haven't added alot to my bedside table but I just love all the little memories I have of each piece.
Thanks for stopping by and please go and visit Pip for more places.

My Place and Yours
Hello there! I found this new game to play along with called My Place and Yours over at Meet Me at Mikes found via Owlet and thought it would be fun to play along. The theme this week is 'on the shelf' and that is my collection of Better Homes and Gardens Magazines or should I say my addiction. It started back in 2001 my addiction to this magazine, although you can only see a few from that date I decided to get rid of some to make room for some more recent addictions. This started my love of craft/homely magazines and has expanded to me buying many more magazines (card, scrapbooking, knitting etc.etc.) and I can't stop! Oh well I think we all have a collection of something, don't we? Anyway thanks for stopping by! Bye for now.

How are your Easter Holidays Going?
I hope that you are all enjoying your holidays, ours haven't been too exciting but nice just being able to stay at home and relax has been great. The girls were lucky enough to get some belated gifts today so were kept busy playing with them this afternoon. They had lots of fun concentrating and keeping in the lines with their new paint by numbers, still more to do so good value.
Bye for now.
A storm is coming.
