261&262/365

I have been waiting with anticipation for this flower to reveal itself to me (it's my first successful bulb to grow), but I must be patient, growth takes time.
Yesterday I got to meet with a wonderful lady, we chatted about children and life. She shared her wisdom with me, encouraged me to believe in myself.  I am so grateful for blogging, for the connections with like minded people I have made and the sharing of knowledge and the support.  Thank you for the chat lovely Tahnee, I look forward to the next time we catch up.
Miss 10 had ball games today, it was perfect weather for being outside.  She did so well zooming around her team, throwing and catching the ball. She came home with two blue ribbons I will put away later for safe keeping.

Over the few years that I have been blogging I have been lucky to make connections with some really lovely like minded ladies.  I think it's interesting how you are drawn to blogs for whatever reason it may be, that although you haven't met in real life you know that you somehow you have similar characteristics, values and interests.  One lady that I have enjoyed getting to know through blogging is Ally.  She lives in one of my favourite states of Australia, Tasmania and takes the most amazing macro photographs that one day I hope to be able to do, lots of practice is required. Last week I found in my letter box a parcel addressed to me, what a lovely surprise, and inside was a present wrapped in brown paper and string along with a card made of one of Ally's beautiful macro photos.  I took some photos and then unwrapped the parcel to find some sweet flower earrings and fabric covered buttons.  Thank you so much Ally for your thoughtful, kind and beautiful words and gifts, I look forward to being able to using them both. If you haven't visited Ally's blog before it's worth a visit, enjoy and admire her macro photography, they really are dreamy.

Tuesday, October 4

I've been blogging for a while now, I think maybe two years.  I started initially to share the cards I had been making, to connect with like minded people.  Then one day I borrowed a craft magazine from the library, found a creative website which led me to clever Jodie of Ric-rac who designs and makes the most amazing soft toys. A whole new world of blogs was then discovered.  I began to do more than just make cards, I started to sew again and teach myself to crochet.  I found that blogging has helped me to discover my creative side and given me the chance to also discover more about myself.  It's also allowed me to meet some wonderful people and develop friendships with people I haven't met before but one day I hope to meet.  One of the sweet ladies who I've made a connection with is Jane from Life on Planet Baby.  She is such a kind lady who writes from the heart, who I know if I met in real life I know she would be as down to earth and sweet, like she is on her blog.  Last week I got this lovely mail from her, thank you Jane it was a beautiful surprise to get and blue is my favourite colour.
Another of my blog friends is Amanda from Homely One.  She is one of the sweetest ladies, she's thoughtful, kind and adores spending time with her daughter Grace and soon to be a Mum to another. I know if we got a chance to meet we'd enjoy sitting down enjoying a cup of tea outside, doing a bit of craft and watching the girls play.

On my doorstep yesterday I received this pretty parcel, a thoughtful gift from her for my birthday last month.  The book is lovely and definitely me, I can't wait to make something out of it. Thank you so much Amanda.

What made you start blogging?

Today I planned on staying home and keeping warm;) but I changed my mind and headed to the Textile Show, I had a chance to meet one of my lovely blogging friends Sandrine and to see beautiful yarn and fabric.  It was lovely to meet, Sandrine and her friend Sandi, we did lots of walking, talking and looking at all the beautiful products, hopefully we'll get to catch up again one day soon:) Thanks ladies for a lovely day out today.  I didn't come home with any treasures this time, I was on the look out for some organic cotton to make a baby beanie but didn't find any so I'll keeping looking.

I thought I would share with you this quote I read today that I thought was inspiring, I hope you do to.

Saturday, May 28

Hi there.  How has your weekend been going?  I hope you've had time to relax, had a snippet of time to yourself to enjoy a cup of something warm to drink.
Today my Little Miss and I headed to the Mathilda's market together to look at beautiful handmade treasures.
My brother in law and sister in law were there for the first time so I wanted to go and support them in their new venture as well as get a chance to cuddle my cute little niece:)  I also had the pleasure of seeing the lovely Steph and see all of her beautiful creations and one of the clever creators of Mondo Cherry.
Later in the day the girls got dressed up and ready for a little friends disco party.  My Little Miss got in the mood by doing some twirling to practice for the party, I only wish they could stay little and innocent forever.
Have a happy Sunday whatever you may be doing

And I was lucky enough to win this sweet heart keyring over at Deborah's.  When I received it I couldn't believe the detail of her work it's so intricate and very cute, thank you:)

These ladies are both very talented and I enjoy stopping by to read what they've been creating, stop by and have a look, you'll enjoy your visit too.

I hope you are enjoying your day, it's been a bit of a rainy one here today.

To Market, To Market

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who left such beautiful comments about my big girl's braces yesterday, she was so happy to read them and enjoyed everyone of them:)

Today the girls and I decided to make our way to the Mathilda's Market in Brisbane. My girls are at a good age now that they like to come and explore with me and to see what pretty things they can find for Mum to buy;) I haven't been to this market before and the quality of the stall holders was high. There was lots of beautiful things to buy and I didn't go home empty handed. I have a birthday coming up at the end of the month for a young girl and found the perfect crocheted hat for her. I also got to meet the lovely Steph from Mon Petit Poppet and see all her beautiful work. I wish my girls were smaller because I just love her french girl dolls.

I hope that you enjoyed your Saturday. What did you get up to today?

Have a wonderful Sunday:)
