A bit of pretty vintage

Yesterday I went out my front door and found a parcel addressed to me which was exciting.  I was lucky enough to win a blog giveaway that Lea was having during blogtober.
And what did I win, a parcel full of beautiful vintage fabric, some gift tags made from vintage books, music paper and wall paper and some envelopes made out of maps.  Thank you so much Lea I think now I will have just the right amount of vintage fabric with your pretty addition to make that quilt  I've been wanting to make for a while.

Have a wonderful weekend

Lovely Mail

Yesterday I had a great day getting lots of bits of pretty in my mail box.
I received this lovely book in the mail from Amanda after being the lucky winner of her giveaway and I'm thoroughly enjoying reading it, thank you so much Amanda.
And in preparation for a special niece who is turning one soon I bought some bamboo flannel to make her a poppy doll and some bamboo towelling to make bibs and burp cloths for a couple of mother's to be.
This organic fabric I'll use for the baby gifts and for the poppy doll clothing.
I love organic food and we love making anything with chocolate in it so as a special treat I bought some chocolate chips and some Australian organic olive oil from here.

I haven't been shopping in ages it's not something I enjoy doing often anymore but I did enjoy this moment of internet shopping. Now I just need to start making but with it being the girls last week of holidays together I think we'll just try and hang out, crafting might just have to wait.

Have a wonderful Wednesday

In recent months I've been lucky to be the receiver of some beautiful handmade delights.  Steph over at Mon Petit Poppet sent me this surprise gift in the mail.  A tissue holder made with sweet vintage fabric and with my initial embroidered on it, thank you so much Steph it's beautiful and it was a such a lovely surprise to receive something handmade by you:)
And I was lucky enough to win this sweet heart keyring over at Deborah's.  When I received it I couldn't believe the detail of her work it's so intricate and very cute, thank you:)

These ladies are both very talented and I enjoy stopping by to read what they've been creating, stop by and have a look, you'll enjoy your visit too.

I hope you are enjoying your day, it's been a bit of a rainy one here today.

Sunday

Today we celebrated my nephews birthday. We headed over there first thing for a lovely morning tea with close family. We all had a lovely time, the girls love playing with their little cousin and he adores them too. Because it was his birthday there was a present to be made so I spent all day yesterday making him one of these. But my version is called the Travelling Train Track.

He is a big fan of Thomas so although he didn't play with the track, the trains were a hit. I think the track will end up being a hit with his Mum when she needs to take something with her to keep him entertained when they go out. The only thing I did differently is changed the car track to a train track but later I thought I should have changed the car on the front to a train but it was already sewn on and time wasn't on my side so not this time.

I also wanted to show you what I won from Megan at Simple Pleasures for the Sew Mama Sew May Day giveaway. Thank you Megan for my beautiful prize it arrived safely and will be put to good use the next time I go away, it's just perfect.

How was your Sunday? Did you have nice weather to enjoy the last day of the weekend? Thanks for coming by lovelies:)
