200-202/365

Sweet flowers that captured my eye, another year around the sun for me and still more birthdays this month so another card made.  Here is a little quote that I loved and thought I would share with you,
"Gratitude is the fairest blossom that springs from the soul."

89/365 Easter Ready

Can you believe that Easter is almost here?  I have been pretty organised but still leave a few things to the last minute.  I bought these sweet tins for my little nieces and nephews for Easter.  I always buy a little keep sake and then make a few easter eggs for them.  Last year I bought them each an Easter mug and then made hot chocolate spoons which are basically disposable wooden spoons with chocolate on them they can mix into warm milk.  This year I have bought an egg mould that I will melt some organic chocolate and pour into it.  They really only each get a token amount of chocolate from me because I feel that with everyone giving them chocolate it quickly adds up.  Are you Easter ready?

65/365 Happy Birthday Molly

I was never someone who made a big deal about their pets birthday, sadly for my poor cat Tiffany who I loved very much.  But since we have had Molly, the girls love to remember her birthday and make a little bit of a fuss.  So to celebrate her turning 8 years old today, we gave her a special meal and a new toy, there was some happy birthday singing too.  Do you like celebrate your pets birthday?

First Week Back

Boy did we hit the ground running with our first week back to school. The girls started back at school last Wednesday, year 12 and year 7 so a big year ahead for both of them.  I can't quite get my head around the fact that my little girls have grown so much.  Just tonight my youngest was looking at photo albums and it's hard to believe so much time has gone by...  The first week was short for which I am very grateful, a nice little start back.  I did though have a busy week, preparing for the school year and then for a special birthday.  My youngest celebrated her birthday on Saturday so there was some baking to be done.  We ended up only having a small gathering with a couple of school friends and two grandmas (my Mum is pictured). The birthday girl enjoyed her special day and was full of smiles just how it should be.  Happy 12th birthday my darling.

Monday, January 25

Hello there.... how did so much time go by again between posts, I am sorry.  Life has been pretty good I really shouldn't complain too much although it's good to get things out too. We have done a bit of exploring over the holidays but not too much really, I must book a holiday for next school holidays I think.
Tomorrow will be the last day of the holidays for the girls then back to school for them.  It's going to be a busy year for us with my girl entering her final year of high school and my youngest beginning her high school journey.  There will be lots of things happening to keep us busy, making decisions about what to do after school, a drivers licience to get wow it's hard to believe that my baby is growing up so much.  So lately this has been on my mind, my Nan is also unwell which is not good.  She is in good spirits and is being lovingly cared for by my Mum which I think is making such a difference.... Ahh life is a journey isn't it full of ups and downs and it's all about trying not to fight them but roll with them. Well sorry for the heavy photo post I hope that you enjoy them.
I hope your January has been a happy one.

Catching up.

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to come by this space again, life has been busy but good.
Here is what I've been up to lately.
Some very cold morning weather, not so fun for the girls to go to school in.
A treat of flowers I bought just for me.
There was a milestone birthday celebrated.
A special dinner for Miss 15 that called for some special makeup to be done.
Gorgeous blue skies perfect for getting washing dried.
A potted Ranunculus I picked up at my local supermarket that I couldn't resist buying.

There was some crocheting done for a good cause.
My usual baking day.
My favourite lunch of hot tea in my birthday cup and some sour dough slathered in butter, yummmo.

How have you been?  I hope all is well with you.
