When I was young I loved to read. I remember getting book club at school and the excitement of choosing a book from the catalogue which was a bit of a treat. As I went through my teenage years I don't recall my love of reading fiction continuing only my love of teen magazines. As I grew older I continued to read magazines and lacked the commitment to reading a novel. I'm not sure what started my love of non-fiction books but I am hooked. It's funny to purposely choose a book to learn from but I feel empowered by what I read. I love to learn about my physical health and mental health. I have contemplated doing another degree relating to health but the assignments.... With this new knowledge I share and apply it to my family which they mostly love... As a nice calming routine each evening, 30 minutes before bed, I like to read and sip on a night time herbal tea. It helps to wind me down and even though I am learning I still feel relaxed. Do you have a reading routine? Are you predominately a fiction or non-fiction reader?

190-199/365 Long time no see
Sorry about the silence here on my space and on instagram. The school holidays always seems to make me step away and be more present. So what has been happening around here? I've been doing a little office yoga; treating myself to some flowers and admiring the flowers in the park when we stopped for lunch; making birthday cards and birthday cakes; frosting mornings and time with family celebrating; garden walks and beautiful new reading material and afternoons spent sitting in the sun to keep warm. How have your holidays been?

184-189/365 Holiday Life
We haven't been up to much this school holidays but when you have a busy term I think holidays with not much to do are just what you need. We have had a visit to the river with friends for morning tea; a trip to the gardens for lunch; I have had lots of cups of tea on these cold days; the chooks checking me out to see what I was up to; another selection of books and bit of crafting a teen boy card. Have you been having a nice school holidays?

167-172/365 Life Lately
Sorry for not popping into this space much sooner. I have been taking my daily photos but have seemed to have lost both my enthusiasm for blogging, posting on instagram and I feel like my photos aren't inspiring. When I first started doing this 365 project I was keen and I still am but I feel like I don't have anything different to share and I worry a little that things are a bit mundane. Here is a little peek into the mundane bits and pieces of my life, I don't mind mundane hopefully you don't either.

137-139/365 Flowers, Books and Food
These gorgeous flowers were given to me by my youngest for Mother's Day and they are still looking as beautiful as ever. Some simple, yet delicious pikelets for afternoon tea were a real treat to have. And my new monthly collection of books from the library. I managed to get quite few new books which was great. How has your weekend been so far? Have you watched the royal wedding?

118/365 Library Haul
This weekend we are having a quiet couple of days at home which is what I need after having a couple of moles removed from my legs this week. So today we headed to the library to feed our need of some good reading material. Here is my lovely selection of books I found today. I can't wait to start reading tonight.

98/365 Library Visit
Gosh I love Sundays. I do have a bit of a routine list I need to work through on a Sunday. I need to do the washing, usually the ironing but not today as we are still on school holidays and the menu planning. I generally take the day slowly and with only a few things to do today we all decided it was time to revisit the library. The library is such a wonderful place to visit and I managed to find another great selection of books to look at for the month. Did you have a nice weekend?

85/365 On my bedside table
I thought I would give you a peek into what I have waiting for me to read. I have started The Simple Home and The Art of Wellbeing and am yet to start on the other two. I do like to visit the library each month but lately haven't found any good self help books so when I was out on the weekend I picked up the book The Gift of Silence to read next. I must resist buying anymore books until these are all read lets see how I go....

49/365 Beautiful Book
I love to read books, I love to borrow books and I also like to buy books. Once a month I will go to my local library and choose a lovely selection of books. They seem to be quite good at purchasing many cookbooks that I like but not as many new age books. The other thing is that I am bit of a night owl and don't usually read for a long period of time before I nod off to sleep. And whilst borrowing books is far more economical I do buy some books because I need more time to read them. Today this book caught my eye and with my family enjoying healthy snacks, I decided to buy it. Do you buy books often or do you borrow or both?

6/365 Library book haul
Every month pretty much we visit our local library to stock up on new reading material. This is my new stash of books to look through for this month. I managed to get a few new ones which is pretty exciting. During lunch today I sat down and flicked through a couple of them, tonight I am looking forward to book marking a couple of recipes and maybe try a new project for me.

Our month of December
Well hello there....It has been a very long time since I have been in this space. I am sorry for not posting regularly for those who still like visiting blogs which sadly seems to not be the trend these days. I have spoken about it before here too that I too am guilty of going over to instagram, it seems to be the way of connecting these days. But I am determined that next year I will be back here in this space more often, posting I hope once a week. I am sure I can do it, I once used to post daily which seems hard to believe.... I don't think I quite have the same amount to blog about these days but you never know. So here is a little blog catchup from the month or two that have passed. There has been a bit of crafting, Christmas, my littlest finished primary school and my oldest has just one more year of high school and now it's school holidays time for fun!! I hope you have had a great Christmas celebrating with your loved ones and that you have had some time to relax over the holiday season. I will be back to do one last post of the year to chat about my goals I hoped to have achieved this past year. See you again soon and thank you to those who still visit and are following along.
