212/365 Books and my favourite reading material

When I was young I loved to read.  I remember getting book club at school and the excitement of choosing a book from the catalogue which was a bit of a treat.  As I went through my teenage years I don't recall my love of reading fiction continuing only my love of teen magazines.  As I grew older I continued to read magazines and lacked the commitment to reading a novel.  I'm not sure what started my love of non-fiction books but I am hooked.  It's funny to purposely choose a book to learn from but I feel empowered by what I read.  I love to learn about my physical health and mental health.  I have contemplated doing another degree relating to health but the assignments.... With this new knowledge I share and apply it to my family which they mostly love... As a nice calming routine each evening, 30 minutes before bed, I like to read and sip on a night time herbal tea.  It helps to wind me down and even though I am learning I still feel relaxed.  Do you have a reading routine?  Are you predominately a fiction or non-fiction reader?

118/365 Library Haul

This weekend we are having a quiet couple of days at home which is what I need after having a couple of moles removed from my legs this week. So today we headed to the library to feed our need of some good reading material.  Here is my lovely selection of books I found today.  I can't wait to start reading tonight.

85/365 On my bedside table

I thought I would give you a peek into what I have waiting for me to read. I have started The Simple Home and The Art of Wellbeing and am yet to start on the other two.  I do like to visit the library each month but lately haven't found any good self help books so when I was out on the weekend I picked up the book The Gift of Silence to read next.  I must resist buying anymore books until these are all read lets see how I go....

33/365 Inspirational Reading

The last time I went to Biome, which is pretty often, I came across their new magazine.  I am always looking for inspiration when it comes to natural living and this magazine has some great recipes and products  to help you on your journey to a waste free, natural life. I think the next recipe I'd like to try might be the bath bombs, perfect for self care Sunday.

8/365 A day to relax

It was a warm day again today and with not much planned my youngest enjoyed her day relaxing and reading her new Christmas book.

95-99/365

We took a trip to the library today.  I'm pretty sure I've got all of my favourite topics covered in this haul.
The loom craze has made it's way into our home.  She has been busy for hours creating lots of bracelets.
I got a little bit of Easter shopping done for my little nieces and nephews. I'm thinking of putting just one egg in the cups along with a spoon and a sticker sheet to go with the book.  And to go along with the board book for my one year old niece, maybe a bunny softie, that's the plan anyway.
This was our dinner tonight, give it a try it is sooo tasty that even both of my girls will eat it.

How has your Wednesday been?

Saturday I finally stopped the procrastinating, I started crocheting my slippers.  I needed to roll my skein first and found this helpful tutorial.  It's a little messy but it did the trick.  I worked along slowly and finished my slipper but found it was too big so I unpicked not once but twice.
Third time lucky and the first slipper fits just right.  One more slipper to go and some pretty buttons to yet be bought but I have some in mind, some wooden ones I think they should go well with the natural wool colour.
A bit of reading before I need to return this to the library.  I'm really enjoying this photography book, it's nice and easy to read and understand.  Thanks Greer for the tip.
My big girl studying diligently for her Maths exam.  She is putting in so much effort this year, I am so proud of her.
It's been a bit of a lazy weekend of dinners this weekend.  Leftovers on Friday and Saturday night so Sunday I made some fresh pizza.  A nice way to end a quiet weekend at home.
Did you enjoy your first weekend of Winter?

Linking up with Lou again this week. Go check out her blog.

My Creative Space

Today is still all about crochet! The baby blanket is coming along slowly, I think I could say I'm about half way there now. It's starting to curl a bit around the edges, does that mean when it's finished I'll need to block it or would an edge stitch stop this from happening?

I've been looking through a pile of books getting creatively inspired

and wanting to start on a new project using some yummy yarn I got for my birthday.

To be inspired, stop by Kirsty's for more creative spaces.
