I love cake!

Hi there everyone! Are you all having a good weekend? My weekend so far has been spent cooking and organising for my Miss 5's birthday party tomorrow. I haven't had a chance to make any cards today but I've had fun baking so I thought that I'd share some of my creations. I can't take the credit for coming up with the cake but I will take the credit for cutting, icing and decorating. Each time I make a cake for my girls I always take a photo, I just love decorating them and seeing their faces when they get the cake they chose. Anyway I hope to be able to post a couple of party pictures for all of you tomorrow, only one more sleep now. Talk to you soon.

Party Bags

Hello there everyone. It has been a little while since my last post but this week has been very busy in my home with my youngest little girl starting her first year at school (prep). Not only has she started prep but it is also her birthday today, she turns 5! Wow five years has gone by so fast, I am missing her at home with me but I have been kept busy making party bags for her party on Sunday. In a SU workshop recently at my home I learnt how to make bag-a-lopes and decided to go with that idea for her party bags this year.

It was as simple as
1.making the bag-a-lope following instructions given in the workshop
2.making a topper and stamping it
3.attaching it with sticky strip on one side
4.punching holes with my crop-a-dile
5.cutting ribbon to size and knotting
6.stamping the letter of the child's name on a tag and attaching a rhinestone, then knotting on the ribbon and that is it!

Thank you for looking and I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend.

Kwerner Colour Inspiration #39

This is my card for Kristina's Colour Challenge #39. I am not absolutely confident about my layout for this card I have been angsting over it for some time that I decided that enough was enough and this was going to have to do.

To make this card I firstly stamped the Polka Dots with Basic Black ink, then I tied RR ribbon along the top then BB grosgrain ribbon below. I cut a circle out of WW cardstock with my nestabilities then stamped the butterfly image with WW ink, layering it on some yellow cardstock by Core-dinations cut with my scallop punch. I added some white dots in the scallops also. I stamped the sentiments, added some rhinestones and a butterfly stamped with RR ink, matted it with the core-dinations cardstock and then popped it up on some dimensionals. As a final bling touch I put a row of rhinestones along the base of the card.

Thank you for coming to visit. Have a lovely weekend everyone.

For the Happy Couple

Hi Everyone!
I mentioned yesterday that I promised that I had a card to show you so I thought I had better follow up. The card that I am posting today I got the inspiration for from a shirt that my daughter was wearing from a children's store called Pumpkin Patch.Since the colours are silver and white I thought they would fit perfectly for a wedding card and since my brother in-law has an up and coming wedding I made it with him in mind. (at least I will be organised) I hope you like it.

So what have all of you been up to today? Since my girls are still on holidays it was off to the movies for Cheap Tuesday and we went and saw "Hotel for Dogs". My oldest absolutely loved seeing all the dogs and is so keen to get a dog but my cat is old and I don't think she could cope with a puppy in the house. My daughter will have to be content with her Nintendo Dogs game for now. Anyway I'm thinking it might be a good idea to get ready for bed and do some reading, relaxing before the start of a new day. I hope you all had a good day. Bye!

Inspiration Challenge #163 Splitcoast Stampers

Hello again today! I must be on a bit of a roll with challenges today because I decided to do another and I also really wanted to use all my new goodies. Anyway as I mentioned earlier my little girl is having a birthday and so I need to make a card for her so when I saw what the inspiration was I knew I had to have a play.

I used a white cardstock base and cut strips of pink passion and adhered them first before putting the card into the cuttlebug. I cut a strip of ribbon adhered that first before making the bow and attaching it with a glue dot. The image was stamped with black stazon then put through the cuttlebug again with my Spellbinders and then embossed. (the same with the pink passion cs) I then coloured the image with inks and my watercolour pen added some stickles for a bit of sparkle before attaching with dimensionals to the cardstock. And lastly the sentiment was stamped with basic black ink, used the corner punch to soften the edges and a bit of bling to make it stand out.Bye for now!

KWerner Colour Inspiration #38

This is the first time I have participated in this colour challenge and decided to do so today because I had most of the colours. I did not have the ruby red so substituted it for rose red instead. My parents have their 34th Wedding Anniversary coming up and so I used my new stamp set from the Sale-a-bration catalogue for the sentiment. I also couldn't go past my new Polka Dot stamp, Felt Fusion and distresser. I just had a Stampin Up party at my house recently and really wanted to start playing with my new things.Thank you for coming and having a look at my little blog, I hope to see you again soon. Bye!

My Little Girl's 5th Birthday

My youngest daughter is turning 5 years old in the next week and I wanted to make a fun and pretty invitation for her. I decided to go with this criss cross card that I found in an Australian craft magazine. I printed the invitation on the computer but chose to go with the butterfly theme and stamped over the invitation to just add some pretty interest. As a little extra touch to the invite, so no one forgets when her birthday party is, I attached a magnet to the back of the insert so they could put the invitation on the fridge. Until next time, bye!
