110/365 Another Black and White

It was a  rainy moody afternoon so I went in search of those beautiful water droplets you find after the rain disappears.  For this photo I under exposed and got a beautiful, moody, black and white photo.  I thought it might be fun to enter one more photo in this weeks black and white challenge over at It's My Week.

109/365 Black and White

Looking for inspiration I wandered around the yard in the moody afternoon light and came across this beautiful detailed moth. I then remembered this weeks  theme of black and white and thought this moth would make the perfect choice.  I did alter this photo to be black and white but initially it was very grey and white so I almost didn't change it but when I did it just popped with the change.

103/365 Hello There

This little creature was as curious about me as I was about it.  It's wonderful what you can see when you use a macro lens, nature is just amazing.

93/365 Leaf

It was the first official day of school holidays today.  Today we decided to stay home and take the day slowly.  My youngest had a friend come and visit for the day which was lovely.  Later in afternoon I went outside and did a little bit more gardening/weeding.  The garden is looking lovely now and is ready for me to plant some seedlings which I am looking forward to.  It's such a nice feeling having a garden weed free and looking it's best.  While outside weeding I came across this unusual leaf and thought it would be fun to photograph for this weeks 'My Week of Close Up'.  I hope you enjoyed your Tuesday.

92/365 Close Up

Today I thought I would participate in a little meme about 'My Week of Close Up'. Being out in the garden I was inspired and took these couple of photos to participate.  I decided to keep them both because I just couldn't decide which I liked best.  I love the sweet seaside daisy but love the unusual spring formation of the vine also.

83/365 Look Up

Sometimes it's important to just be still, look around and look up to see the beauty around you.

61/365 The Great Outdoors

Just a little bit of nature that caught my attention. Mushrooms a plenty with the wet, moist weather we have been having. And bougainvillea with it's stunning, bright colour.

55/365

We decided to brave the miserable weather and go out for the day together to the Mind Body Spirit Festival.  We wandered up and down the isles stopping to look at the crystals, take in the smells and get a little taste test too.  My youngest and I both had an aura photo taken which was fun and interesting.  After our wander we needed some lunch so headed to West End for a quick bite to eat and came across this gorgeous plant shop.  My youngest wanted me to take a photo of her so I plucked up the courage to ask the person working there if we could take an picture and she was more than happy for us to which was nice.  Did you do anything different over the weekend?

52/365 Ivy

This beautiful ivy, a gift from my neighbour when my Nan passed away also named Ivy.  Do you see the glistening on the leaf? What a beautiful pattern, almost like a hexagon quilt.

42/365 Stormy Skies

It has been a little while since we have seen some stormy skies.  We got some welcome relief from the heat today with a nice storm this afternoon. This week we are have a heat wave predicted so I will  be retreating inside.

40/365 When in doubt...

post a picture of a pretty flower.  I'm not sure what plant this is but it's belongs to my neighbour. I don't tend to have a lot of flowers planted although I do like them very much, I really enjoy leafy green plants. Do you have a favourite type of plant you like?

36/365 Crystal Love

I recently started following this lovely instagram account after seeing her beautiful macrame work.  She then started to post some crystals that she was selling that came from Australia and this quartz crystal caught my eye.  My youngest daughter first started the love for crystals in the house and I have now started my own little collection. Do you like crystals?

34/365 Greening Nicely

For the last couple of days we have been having the most beautiful cool weather which is a welcome reprieve from the very hot days we have been having over Summer.  We had a little family gathering at my mother in laws and had to take a photo of her beautiful view.

27/365 Geranium

It has been very warm and dry the last few weeks.  Usually we have warm days followed by a Summer storm but not recently.  My garden is suffering but my pots on the deck are doing much better in the shade.  I only noticed today these sweet new little flowers.

19/365 Afternoon Delight

It was a usual busy Friday filled with all kinds of housework. When I was outside taking the washing off the line, I took my camera for a walk around the yard to capture the beautiful afternoon light. Happy weekend to you.

18/365 Garden Wanderings

Relaxing with my youngest today, enjoying a bit of wandering here and there.  A treat of some new yarn, lunch and a walk in the Japanese gardens.  It was a good day.

13/365 Will you accept this rose

I haven't been diligent with picking our roses lately and before the heat  ruins them I decided it was best that I pick them.  They are now sitting nicely on our dining table.  I love having some of my own flowers to pick and enjoy.

10/365 Summer skies

I do love the long days of Summer but the heat is not my favourite part of Summer.  My favourite time of year is Autumn, the days cooling down after the warm Summer.  I went for a little wander this afternoon as most of our day was spent at home.  I stood for a moment and looked up to see the most beautiful blue sky and the green leaves of the jacaranda and thought I would share with you. I hope you have enjoyed your day today.

3/365 After the rain

We have had some very muggy, warm days this Summer but thankfully we have also had some storms to cool us down too. The lawn is looking beautiful and green now.  I am so grateful for it because there is nothing sadder than a long, dry Summer.

From last weekend

On Sunday we got up, packed some homemade treats and made the drive west to visit my Mum and Nan.  It's been too long in between visits, life seems to be busy and when the days are free I like to potter around home.  I still miss my Dad terribly when I go to visit my Mum but I don't let on, I am so very grateful to have my Mum and my Nan to visit and so it is important to make that my focus but it is hard.  When I do visit I always enjoy being in the family, surrounded by memories, open space and the free feeling of being close to nature.  Here are a few photos from our day.  I hope you have had the most wonderful weekend.  I'll be back tomorrow with photos of our Sunday.
