Boy did the weekend whizz by and today is Monday, the first day of school holidays for my youngest. I do love school holidays for the slow days, taking your time to get things done which makes things nice and calm. On the weekend we decided to go to the markets, it was the perfect weather. I did a bit of shopping for me and a bit for a couple of other people. I am now looking out for Christmas present ideas, trying to be organised!! There was our weekly grocery shopping, lots of fresh fruit and vegetables although I may have to go back and get a little more fruit towards the end of the week. And today's baking was another gluten free experiment for me. I am far more used to baking with flour and butter but as one member of the family wants to go gluten free for a couple of weeks I am giving it a try. The biscuits were a little dry to work with but they did taste yummy. How was your weekend?

144-146 Growth, Learning and Decorating
Despite the dry weather we have been having both the lemon and mandarin tree are doing well. The mandarin tree is laden with fruit, it's first time. I am hoping they taste as good as they look.
A bit of podcast inspiration for you. My favourite time to listen is on my housework day, it really makes cleaning a much more pleasant experience.
Today my youngest made this gorgeous cake to celebrate a special little girl turning 2.

It was a family day today, spending time together chatting, catching up and doing lots of eating too. This stunning view from my mother in laws home, I would never tire of looking at that. Have a very happy Saturday.

98/365 Library Visit
Gosh I love Sundays. I do have a bit of a routine list I need to work through on a Sunday. I need to do the washing, usually the ironing but not today as we are still on school holidays and the menu planning. I generally take the day slowly and with only a few things to do today we all decided it was time to revisit the library. The library is such a wonderful place to visit and I managed to find another great selection of books to look at for the month. Did you have a nice weekend?

69/365
This weekend I really wanted to stay at home after a couple of weekends out and about. But when my hubby came home saying he could get VIP tickets to the Brisbane Ice-cream Festival today I knew I would have some very keen daughters. So we ventured out on the rainy day together and had a nice time seeing all the delicious looking ice cream creations. Taking lots of photos along the way too. Here are the treats that each of us chose today. Have you ever been to an ice cream festival?

63/365 More Greenery
There seems to be a bit of a theme going on at the moment with me sharing lots of plants. I suppose that sometimes we can go through phases. After my visit to All The Green Things last week and yesterday to Bliss Float I've been inspired to buy a few more plants that I have like for a while now. So today we stopped in to Bunnings and bought a couple of dichondra to put into hanging baskets and xanadu to put into a spot in the garden that has been bare for quite some time. What have you been up to this weekend? Have you done any gardening?

62/365 Bliss Float
Today my hubby and I had the pleasure of going to a gorgeous place called Bliss Float. A few weeks ago there was a competition on instagram to win a infrared sauna and a float as a Valentine's Day gift. I entered and ended up being the lucky winner, I was very excited. So today we got to share the Valentine's Day gift together which we thoroughly enjoyed.

35/365 Lunching
When plans first made didn't work out we decided a small gathering, just the four of us on her favourite track was a perfect way to celebrate her birthday.

6/365 Library book haul
Every month pretty much we visit our local library to stock up on new reading material. This is my new stash of books to look through for this month. I managed to get a few new ones which is pretty exciting. During lunch today I sat down and flicked through a couple of them, tonight I am looking forward to book marking a couple of recipes and maybe try a new project for me.

Hello, hello, hello
How are you? Long time no blogging. I am so sorry to have been absent from this space for such a long period of time. In the 6 years (I think) that I have been blogging I'm not sure I have ever left it so long in between blog posts.
Life has dealt some tricky times since my Nan passed away. There has been lots to deal with. Sadly things don't always go as smoothly as you hope when someone passes away but I am trying to remember that what happens will be as it is meant to. It is a little hard to deal with especially when my Nan's wishes may not be fulfilled as she wished, though time will tell.
Lots of great things have happened too. There has been birthdays and a little anniversary for hubby and I, which we celebrated today on our date; being reunited with my Grandfather which has been a blessing; going to the gym and yoga; crafting; catching up with friends for smoothies and time with my gorgeous family. My poor camera has been a little neglected sadly, my passion though has ignited today after a visit to the gardens, it was just the medicine I needed. I am hoping that might mean I will be back to visit this space again soon, fingers crossed.
I hope all is well with you, that this year has been treating you nicely and that you have had some beautiful sunshine to enjoy this weekend.
Thank you for coming by to visit.
Much love.

Sunday plans
Saturday I thought it might be nice to go visit my Mum, with no plans made for Sunday there was now a plan in place to go to the country. So I got busy in the kitchen baking some yummy treats to take with us banana choc chip muffins, party popcorn and raw caramel slice along with some scary finger biscuits Miss 11 made. We all sat out on the deck eating, chatting and drinking tea. There was some present giving too, my Nan celebrated her 88th birthday a couple of weeks ago!! After way to much food we wandered the garden, noticing the spring details in the garden. I was lovely to see the mulberry tree bearing fruit and being able to eat some straight from the tree, a childhood must I think.
How was your weekend?
