On Saturday we had a family bbq to celebrate a 50th birthday. It was the perfect night, the temperature was just right, the mozzies were kept at bay with a bit of insect repellent, good conversations and the screaming laughter of cousins playing games of chase. With the present already bought, wrapped up in simple brown paper tied with a bow I needed to make a card. Male cards are really difficult to make, when there is some space to fill you can't pretty it up with ribbon or a flower like you can with a female card. So with some inspiration from a card magazine I came up with this simple card to go along with the pressie. Do you still buy cards to go with gifts or maybe go with a simple gift tag?

ReplyDeleteloving that quote.
ReplyDeleteMale cards are difficult. I have to admit lately I've been leaning more towards gift tags and small cards. I do still like big cards though when I have special words I want to write.
ReplyDeleteLove that quote!
ReplyDeleteLike the card - good idea. I like to recycle as much as I can - however never really got creative at making my own cards.
ReplyDeleteAt christmas I cut up old christmas cards and use them as gift tags.

The card looks great. Male cards are hard. I love your star background and the stud at the end of happy birthday. Looks like we have the same stamp set - I also have a huge set of the snap stamps.
ReplyDeleteAs for the card vs tag on gifts, I always go with a card so I can add a nice message.
Love the colours in this Catherine you did a great job!
ReplyDeleteOh I agree, male cards are very difficult to make. Love this one!
