My older daughter is having a buddy picnic at school tomorrow and she needs to take a plate of food along to share. She loves to cook so tonight she made some honey joys. I imagine they'll be a big hit, they sure are in our house. Here's the recipe she used.
85g of butter
⅓ cup of sugar
1 tbsp of honey
4 cups of cornflakes
Preheat oven on a slow temperature 140℃ to 150℃. Place the first 3 ingredients into a saucepan and melt until bubbly. Remove from heat and stir into bowl with cornflakes. Spoon mixture into patty cases. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes.

Check out that grin!! Your lovely girl seems pretty impressed, and so she should be! They look delicious (and I'm having late night sugar cravings!). I'm sure they'll love them :) x claire
ReplyDeleteI used to love Honey joys as a kid. They were an extra special treat because Mum rarely bought corn flakes. I had one a few years ago and they still taste just as good!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they'll be a hit - I used to love honey joys at parties (still do!!) :)
ReplyDeleteMmmm yum, I made anzacs today and all I could think about was how I wished I was making honey joys instead. Hope you managed to snaffle a few before they were put away for the picnic!
ReplyDeleteYumm - hope that they were a hit. Well done to her. Amelia loves her buddy - I think that it is a fantastic system:)
