I've been blogging for a while now, I think maybe two years.  I started initially to share the cards I had been making, to connect with like minded people.  Then one day I borrowed a craft magazine from the library, found a creative website which led me to clever Jodie of Ric-rac who designs and makes the most amazing soft toys. A whole new world of blogs was then discovered.  I began to do more than just make cards, I started to sew again and teach myself to crochet.  I found that blogging has helped me to discover my creative side and given me the chance to also discover more about myself.  It's also allowed me to meet some wonderful people and develop friendships with people I haven't met before but one day I hope to meet.  One of the sweet ladies who I've made a connection with is Jane from Life on Planet Baby.  She is such a kind lady who writes from the heart, who I know if I met in real life I know she would be as down to earth and sweet, like she is on her blog.  Last week I got this lovely mail from her, thank you Jane it was a beautiful surprise to get and blue is my favourite colour.
Another of my blog friends is Amanda from Homely One.  She is one of the sweetest ladies, she's thoughtful, kind and adores spending time with her daughter Grace and soon to be a Mum to another. I know if we got a chance to meet we'd enjoy sitting down enjoying a cup of tea outside, doing a bit of craft and watching the girls play.

On my doorstep yesterday I received this pretty parcel, a thoughtful gift from her for my birthday last month.  The book is lovely and definitely me, I can't wait to make something out of it. Thank you so much Amanda.

What made you start blogging?

  9. I started blogging for grandparents when we moved over to Australia. Unfortunately they disliked the concept and refuse to read it. Now I do it as a diary for our family and the bonus is the amazing friends I have made along the way!

  10. Lovely presents Catherine - they look very you!
I'm not really sure why I started blogging - bit of frustrated writer and the whole wanting to remember things
    The connections are amazing though

  11. Oh Catherine, thank you so much for your kind words and I'm so happy you liked the book - hope it has some great projects for you to try. I am constantly in awe of the kind, thoughtful like minded bloggers I come across through blogging. I initially started when Grace was a newborn and I found myself wanting a creative outlet to give myself a bit of 'me' time. I love the way blogging lets you connect with like minded people and I constantly draw inspiration and get ideas from posts like yours :)
