I was in the mood for some dessert tonight, a healthy treat for the official first day of holidays.
In the latest issue of Nature & Health I found the perfect recipe I had been wanting to try. It was very sweet and filling but knowing how good it was for me I was totally ok with that feeling.  Here's the recipe for you if you would like to give it a try for yourself one day.
2 ripe avocados, peeled and chopped
1/2 cup coconut milk
1/4 cup filtered water
1/4 cup cacao powder
1/2 cup raw honey
2 tablespoons psyllium husk (I omitted this as I didn't have any)
2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup melted coconut oil

Place all the ingredients in your blender and process until smooth.  Serve topped with berries or coconut or you could leave it plan. It served a small helping for our family of 4 and left us all feeling quite full.
And a photo of my little Miss playing intently on her Dad's new toy.  She is growing so much and her little girl face is changing so I've been sneaking in few photos of her lately to capture this time before it's gone.

Wishing you a restful Sunday.

  1. Hello lovely, finally have some 'blog reading time' so a long overdue catch up on your posts is now happening as I sip my tea. I promise to email you over the coming week. Your recipe sounds yummy. I tried a similar one with the girls but it didn't have enough sweetness so I will have to give yours a try as it sounds delicious. Love the photo you've captured of your little one. Hope all is well with you and your beautiful family xx

  2. I've never seen a dessert like this. I'm not sure if mine would give it a go if they saw the avocados going in the blender?! I might try it when no one is in the kitchen!

  3. Yummy sounding treat...I usually just grab for the block of chocolate! 🌺

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and comment on my blog I really appreciate each and every comment I read. Have a lovely day. x
