183/365 Pretty Pickings

When I look at my daughters I see how much time has passed and how grown they have become.  And then I remember their sweet young ways when my youngest picks me flowers and brings them home to me like she used to when she was little.

151-155/365 Life

Life lately over the past five days.  My biggest daughter had her wisdom teeth out so there has been lots of tablets, soft foods and ice packs.  A little bit of card making for my nephew that is turning double digits this week. Our little mandarin tree has produced quite a bit fruit this year.  We had to pick them as the crows were feasting on them.  Sundays are for relaxing with the newspaper and a lovely cup of tea. And as always Monday's are for baking.  Today on the menu was Honey Biscuits, Choc chip Banana Muffins  and also these yummy treats which I haven't yet made but will do soon. How have you been?

126/365 My Youngest

It's hard to believe that this young woman is my youngest daughter.  It seemed to just happen over night she went from a young girl to a young woman.  The days are long but the years are short, such a true statement.

82/365 Flower Gifts

When I picked up my girl from school she sat in the car beside me and presented me with this rose.  Such a thoughtful gift from her.  I love it how she still thinks of me like she used to when she was little.

68/365 Me and My Family

Some happy snaps of me and my family since yesterday was a very unexciting day filled with washing and all things housework.  I didn't technically take a photo yesterday but in my defence I often share more than one a day so hopefully this still counts in the whole 365 photo project:)

When plans first made didn't work out we decided a small gathering, just the four of us on her favourite track was a perfect way to celebrate her birthday.

26/365 A Pretty Special Card

It will be my youngest daughter's birthday next week.  As she is getting older I am trying to make my cards for her more mature too.  I do miss those cute little girl cards I used to make for her but really loved this card design I came up with.  And knowing that she love mandalas, I think she is going to like this one.

18/365 Garden Wanderings

Relaxing with my youngest today, enjoying a bit of wandering here and there.  A treat of some new yarn, lunch and a walk in the Japanese gardens.  It was a good day.

1/365

Today marks the first day of my 365 project.  I don't have a particular theme in mind, whatever catches my eye on the day will probably be what I share here.  I am a little rusty with my photo taking, so it may take some time to get my groove back. The photo I am sharing today is a beautiful selenite crystal lamp in my youngest daughter's room.  She loves her crystals and so this lamp was on her Christmas wish list.  I just love the soft glow of the lamp lighting up her room.

The Return of blogging

Well hello there.  How have you been?  I have been good.  When you have been away from a space it's hard to know where to start.  What has been happening?  To be honest just life.  I had mentioned that we had been having issues with my Nan's estate, well I am happy to say that has all been finalised which is a big relief.  The big stressful part is over which I am grateful for.  My big girl finished school and is at uni so life is looking a little different now.  I am a Mum to a school girl and to one who is almost an adult and needs to spread her wings which is hard for this over protective Mum.  We have been doing a little bit of renovating which has been nice, it's been a while. It feels nice to have a few projects that have been on our list for years getting checked off. We are still to paint the house but that will happening soon.  And there has been some holiday planning too, which is exciting. I think that pretty much sums up life for the last few months.

On Sunday it was Mother's Day so I asked my family to take me to Toowoomba for a picnic and a walk through the beautiful parks they have up there.  It is always nice to explore and to continue with our traditions too. It is nice to experience a little Autumn close to home and to enjoy it with my family.  So here are some photos of Mother's Day I took as we wandered around exploring our favourite spots.

Well thanks for stopping by and for sticking by me in this little blog of mine.  I hope to see you again soon, certainly not months like it has been.  I hope you are all well.  ðŸ’™

Beach Exploring

On our second week of school holidays we decided to go to the beach for a swim.  When we were on holidays in New South Wales, it was quite cool and rainy so the girls didn't have a swim like they wanted.  So we made the trek to the Sunshine Coast, and stopped at Dicky Beach.  It was an overcast day, warm but cold in the water and the ocean was calm and peaceful, perfect for swimming.  The girls and my hubby had a wonderful time, I sat and watched them letting my mind wander and just enjoyed being.  After the swim we went for a walk and explored the rock pools and then had some lunch overlooking the stunning landscape.  I love creating these memories with my family.  I am so very grateful to have them.

Helloooo

Gee where do I start.... I didn't mean for it to be so long in between posts.  My goal this year was to be more focussed and place importance on things that matter to me like this blog.  Life though can throw some curve balls and attention needs to be focussed elsewhere.
I have mentioned how my Nan was ill when we last spoke.  She went to hospital and got tests done and all was ok, she was on the mend which was great.  Then a couple of months down the track she woke with a terrible pain in her tummy, something wasn't quite right.  She was rushed to the hospital and after some tests they discovered that her bowel was full, something that can happen, I didn't think it was anything to be concerned about at the time.  But as you age and with other health complications it mean that it was very serious.  Sadly my Nan did not make it and she passed away in hospital just days later from a blood infection and her body becoming toxic.  It was such a shock to us all.  She had been unwell but was in great spirits and we thought that we would have her in our lives for more years to come....My Nan, Ivy Bertha, passed away at age 88.  Following her passing in March life has been a bit challenging.  There is certainly the loss to adjust to, the finalising of her affairs and the family dynamics that have also changed as a result.  I just haven't felt up to doing much of anything really.  I have done things of course but it has been an effort.  In time things will improve and this week has been a good one, I'm just taking each day as it comes and feel blessed to have family and friends to talk to and lean on when I need them.
I post on instagram often but if you aren't there I have put lots of photos up here to catch you up on what I have been up to this last couple of months.  I hope to be back here more regularly now as things are slowly returning to a new normal, sharing a bit of crafting and gardening which I am planning on doing on  Monday as we have a long weekend here.  I hope you are all doing well those of you who still like to visit blogs.
