The girls and I took a trip to my Mum and Dad's today, enjoying the last week of freedom before they return to school and time tables, also there was a much needed haircut for a couple of very eager girls. As I drive there I feel the peace and calmness wash over me, looking out my window I see the wide open spaces of the country side appear before my eyes. I never truly appreciated what a beautiful place the country was until I became older. To me sitting on the back deck breathing in the fresh air, listening to the rustling of the trees makes me happy. My father over the years has created a beautiful garden full of flowers, fruit trees, grapes and hives of Australian native bees. Today I took my camera along and went for a walk around his garden I thought you might like to come for a walk with me and explore the sights.
Today I came home with a big bag of lemons, some limes, a tangelo or two and a few passion fruit. I'm so grateful for all the hard work my father has put into his garden, he is such a hard working man, always has and always will be. I think a lemon meringue pie might have to be made this weekend.
Wow! Is this where you grew up? It is stunning! My long term dream is to move to the country and have orchards and bees! Your father sounds lovely. x
ReplyDeleteI also grew up on a farm, a delightful background to have. Your seventh photo looks like a bush lemon tree. I love your last photo and the one of the little wasp. Must have been wonderful to spend time with your folks in the country side.
