My Creative Space - Crochet

After my lesson last week I am now truly enjoying crochet. My granny square is still growing slowly and I've added a green into the blanket. When I started it last week I only had the blue and cream yarn so I worked with them and as it grew I thought it would make a perfect baby blanket but I think it looks more suited to a boy and the baby arriving soon is going to be a girl. Should I start again or try and add another colour that could make it a bit more feminine? I still think it would make a beautiful blanket but I don't know whether I should give it as a gift to them or not now, what do you think?

Still on the subject of crochet and babies, I found this sweet and simple crochet beanie pattern. My model for today is Miss 6's baby Brookie, fitting her very nicely I think.

I'm just waiting to be asked to make another especially for her but this one I made is for another little baby arriving soon.

  5. I agree, it doesn't have to be to pink for a girl! Sometimes it is nice to have something a bit less pink I am sure! Great job. Crochet is great fun!

  6. Just gorgeous colours. Would definitely suit either a boy or girl. And you never know, they may have the sex confused, so you'd be covered either way!

  7. That is such an adorable beanie!! Grace was a winter baby and I always had her head covered in one - but none were as pretty as the one you've made :) Your blanket is going to look wonderful - I don't think you have to necessarily have pink in there for it to suit a girl but a bit of pink wouldn't hurt either. Look forward to seeing it finished x

  8. Very pretty indeed. I've been seeing a bit of crochet work in the blogger community and it's just fantastic. I'm terrified of going anywhere near crochet work - I may get addicted! My 'portfolio' of hobbies is growing exponentially!

  11. Wow Catherine, look at you go! As the mother of three girls, I love anything for them that isn't the traditional pink. I think its gorgeous! And that hat is pretty fabulous too. The stitches are so regular and perfect. It looks like you've been at it forever. I am really looking forward to seeing what you come up with next.
I hope you are having a happy weekend. X

  12. Your baby blanket is coming along well... and yes it would be a wonderful gift for a little girl. There is still plent of room to add a pink round if you're worried about it... the colours are all so soft and muted. Beautiful for a baby. Loving your super sweet beanie too.
