How was your weekend? I hope it was a good one. It was a busy weekend this weekend but a good kind of busy. I booked into another day course in photography, the main focus was on composition, this time I was put way out of my comfort zone. To put your learning into action we were given a task to do, take ten portraits of strangers! I have to say that people responded really positively which was a relief but it was really difficult and I did my best to take photos quickly so people didn't become too impatient with my fumbling. For the first practical photography assignment we took photos close to the venue at GOMA where the mood was quiet and slow, great for photographing. The second part of the assignment was done at the French Festival, which was buzzing with people and more difficult to approach strangers so I kind of cheated and took a photo of a street performer and a gentleman dressed for the occasion who were very happy to pose. I think as an adult it can be easy to avoid putting yourself out of your comfort zone so I'm glad I was able to do the course and be forced into doing something that really I did end up enjoying and I think these situations can only be positive for me.
(I promised not to use photos of the people's faces but loved this photo of the skater boys enjoying their day out together)
Another trip to the country for us this week, enjoying the sunshine that made an appearance today and just hanging out with family to celebrate a birthday or three. It's kind of nice and a little bit convenient to have my brother's birthday, my birthday and my hubby's birthday all in the one month. And of course there just had to be a bit of photo taking today and I have to say it was sooo much easier taking photos of my family and a whole lot of fun too.
Wishing all of you a very happy day.Playing along with Lou today
