Monday, July 9

It was one of those weekends where there were no plans, the kind of weekends that I like the best.  They are the kind of weekends where sometimes not much gets done and more lists are made with nothing crossed off.  I like to write lists, it gives me a goal and helps me to remember all the things I want to do. If I didn't have lists I'm sure I'd forget the things I needed to do each day. There are lots of things on my crafting list now I've put pen to paper but the one thing that I just want to finish is that crochet blanket I started back here.  This weekend I made some progress on the crochet front, but with 47 stripes to go I'll be hooking away for a bit lot longer.
We made our monthly trip to the library, stocking up on lots of books and just by coincidence there was a celebration for the National Year of Reading so the little one got her face painted.
There were pancakes made for afternoon tea.
And with the last of the light on Sunday afternoon I took a walk around the yard.
Did you have a good weekend?

Your blanket is going to be very impressive Catherine and so worth all the time spent on it. Love the colours you are using.
We made a quick dash to the library on Friday to stock up on holiday reading material and plan to lay low for the next two weeks.

  3. Progress is progress, no matter how long it takes you in the end! Just think how you will feel once it is finished. It will bring a smile to your face each time you see it. I love making Cohen's bed with the ripple blanket I made for him on it. He says, "Mama knit this because she loves me." (He calls any kind of craft knitting. :)

  10. The blanket is amazing!!!! Is crocheting hard? Your little one looks adorable with her little blue bird! Growing up I had one of those enamel blue bird brooches that were popular in the 1970s, so wish I still had it! x

  25. Oh Catherine, words do not do justice to how stunning your crochet blanket is looking - I love the colours and the pattern and cannot wait to see your finished product!! I love trips to the library too, stocking up on books to work my way through over the following weeks. Weekends with no plans, just spent pottering and planning are my favourite sort. I too make endless lists :)
