It seems I have the blahs at the moment. Partly it's been to do with Christmas, if I look at the big picture I get a little overwhelmed but then I take a moment to step back, just break it down and things will all get done in time I know.  The other has been negotiating behaviours, behaviours I hope will improve with age but for now it is something I'm trying very hard to do my best to deal with. To keep my spirits up I made myself  a batch of my favourite granola a recipe from Heather. To mine I added some raw almonds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, cranberries and apricots, delish.
We've been continuing with our advent calendar activities, yesterday it was making some doggy treats for Molly.  The recipe made so many that I'm sure she won't mind sharing a few with her doggy friends so we'll package up some and give them away this Christmas.
For ages I've been meaning to try and make some of my own citrus cleaner.  The other day before I cut up our fruit for morning tea I remembered to take the peel off first and started my first batch of cleaner.  I couldn't help but open the lid to smell and wow it smells good already but I'll leave it for the 2 weeks the recipe suggests and look forward to trying it then. Have you made your own cleaner before?
I've been thinking I might  just need a little break from my blog for the rest of the week, get my head around things at home and hopefully be more refreshed when I return.  I'll see you again soon.  Take care.

  7. It is tricky...I think we all get tired and then the release of not being at school and adjusting to being in each others company full time....it is happening all over the world in many homes....enjoy the quiet end of the week and have lots of calming tea to sip. xxxx

  9. I'm in the same state of mind as you at the moment it seems, needing a break from writing blog posts and so on to re-focus and feel as though I'm on top of things :) I can imagine how lovely that citrus cleaner must smell - do let us know how it goes when you open and use it. I have a recipe I'm wanting to try for one with lavendar oil and eucalyptus oil in the mix. Thanks for sharing the dog biscuit recipe, Grace will love making some treats for her beloved Asha xx

  11. That's what I did last week, Catherine. Sometimes my blog isn't a place I want to go to, and that's fine. Sometimes I just feel like putting my focus on getting up again and trying to get my head around this massive task that is parenting. Like you, I've been trying to make sense of behaviour too. Can be very draining on everyone, I agree. I made a huge batch of granola too yesterday! Citrus cleaner... Now that's something I haven't done yet. But wait, don't you actually have to clean to justify making it? :-)

  12. Hi Catherine, your granola recipe sounds really tasty with all the added fruit and nuts, as I'm the only one who eats it in our home I've never made it before. Wondering how long does it last in an airtight jar? Christmas time can get a little stressful at times, all those expectations we have............rest up and enjoy(if you can) a bit of ME time.

  14. I hope making some of these treats are helping you with the 'blahs'. We all feel blah from time to time. Fresh granola, a happy pup, and the smell of citrus has got to help. :)

I hope you get over the "blahs" in your life. I totally understand how you feel. Hopefully everything will work out within a matter of time. Just believe that it will ;)
