So it's been a few days since I have posted, my hubby took time off this week and has been busy around the house getting all those things done that you run out of time to do on the weekend.
While he has been busy I've been keeping him company and doing all my usual everyday things too like baking in the kitchen.  This week I made a batch of Anzac biscuits and an Apple and Oat Breakfast Cake.
Outside my hubby was busy putting some compost in the garden and mulching the garden beds, it has been so long since I have been growing anything more than herbs. I feel I am probably ready now to be back outside, I can't wait to have some lettuce, tomatoes and other yummy things growing.  Now the yards are all ready and waiting for me to get out there and start planting.
Today the girls participated in an Anzac Day service, it was such a beautiful day for it today.
And finally.....I have a finished shawl.  It has taken me way way too long to get it finished.  I wish I wasn't such a procrastinator, it feels great to finish off a project. I have just three more unfinished projects to go and I have a new one I can't wait to start.
Have a wonderful Saturday.

  2. The cookies and cake look so delicious! I took time off last week too and it was so nice to catch up on doing all those little things about the place that always seem to fall by the wayside on weekends (including gardening). Your shawl is beautiful and so delicate and it's lovely that your girls participated in the Anzac day service today. Hope you have a lovely weekend!

  4. Wow, what a beautiful shawl! You must be so happy with it and perfect timing with the cooler weather. Your bikkies and cake look yummy and a garden ready for planting....perfect! I get a bit emotional on Anzac Day thinking about what our Grandparents went through for us, plus it's my Pop's birthday ( I feel his presence more on this day). Anyway, here's to your gorgeous shawl and a garden. Happy weekend Catherine. xxoo
