Another Post For You!

I'm back already! I haven't been very up to date with my blogging but I have been busy crafting and taking pictures but not posting. Today I am organized and so I thought I would share with you what I have been up to. I have been sewing up a storm with some little coin purses for my girls and also some tissue covers. Also I have been busy making some little post it note covers and covering this little tin so I can put some lollies in there for the car, sometimes I like to have a lolly on hand. I won't post the materials today but feel free to ask if you have any questions. I hope that you like my creations. Bye again!

My Weekend!

I just thought I would share with you some pictures from my weekend. Saturday was busy but fun. We got the girls up early to go and see our local Anzac Service which I think is really important and they were very well behaved. I was very proud of them. After our early start it was off for a family picnic at the Gold Coast Botanical Gardens for my nephew's 6th birthday. Before all the children came along we used to go out to restaurants to celebrate but these days we all go to a new park and have a wonderful time together playing and exploring a new place. I hope you all had a good weekend too and enjoy the photos. Bye!

Just a quick post!

Hello there! I have just come home from a lovely lunch with two good friends and I am feeling tired and full. One of my friends was celebrating her 30th birthday today and as part of her gift I decorated a cute little gift bag. I popped in a couple of Stampin Up things inside for her, a circle scallop punch and a new little set called A Flower for all Seasons. I hope she gets some good use out of them. Hope you are all having a good day. Bye for now.

A Day of Cooking!

Today was the first day of school today and so I did go to my local scrapbooking shop and spent a little bit on myself buying the latest Simply Handmade Magazine and a little tin for myself to alter to put some lollies in for the car. I know I probably shouldn't buy any more things for projects and just finish the ones I have already on the go but I have wanted to make one for a little while. Other than that just some much needed cooking for my family to enjoy for morning tea at school and work. The first is a Weetbix Chocolate Slice and a simple Banana Cake. Hope you all have had a good day. Bye and enjoy! Smiles Catherine

Weetbix Chocolate Slice
Preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius. Line a lamington tin with baking paper. Crumble 4 Weetbix into a large mixing bowl, add 1 cup self-raising flour, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 3/4 cup desiccated coconut and 1 cup of dark chocolate chip. Stir to combine. Melt 150g of butter, add to the Weetbix mixture and stir to combine. Press the mixture into the prepared tin and bake for 20-25 minutes. Stand on a wire rack to cool. Top with melted dark or milk chocolate and leave for about an hour or until the chocolate is firm. Cut into squared to serve.

Banana Cake
Ingredients
125g butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup mashed banana
1/2 cup sour cream
2 cups self raising flour, sifted
Icing
1 1/2 cups of icing sugar, sifted
15g soft butter
1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
1-2 tablespoons lemon juice

1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius. Cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well. Stir in the mashed banana and sour cream.
2. Lightly fold in the flour. Spoon the mixture into a greased and lined 23x13 cm loaf time.
3. Bake fro 40-45 minuted, or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Turn onto a wire rack to cool.
4. Mix together all the icing ingredients until smooth, then spread over the cooled cake. If necessary, the cake can be wrapped in freezer wrap and frozen.

How are your Easter Holidays Going?

I hope that you are all enjoying your holidays, ours haven't been too exciting but nice just being able to stay at home and relax has been great. The girls were lucky enough to get some belated gifts today so were kept busy playing with them this afternoon. They had lots of fun concentrating and keeping in the lines with their new paint by numbers, still more to do so good value.

Bye for now.

A storm is coming.

Easter

Miss 5's gorgeous painted nails.
Miss 9 and her beautiful painted nails.
A Family Easter.
A Day at the Movies!
Hello there my friends! Have you all had a lovely Easter break? My family and I have had a lovely couple of days together, today was definitely an inside day today and the children had fun watching movies and eating popcorn. Yesterday we had the extended family over for lunch for a BBQ, eating lots of food and getting lots of chocolate. It's my brother's 2nd year Wedding Anniversary and I haven't made a card yet so I better get to it and make one tomorrow, belated but hopefully he won't mind. I also made a little coin purse for Miss 5 today but I will call that one a bit of a tester, looks pretty good but now I've made one the next one should be easier to make. Unfortunately I am not the best sewer but I'm giving it a go so maybe I will post a picture soon. Talk to you soon, bye!

Happy Easter!

Hello there my friends! I hope that you are enjoying your Easter so far. My day wasn't so exciting cleaning the house but what I did enjoy was having my husband home from work and my children playing happily together.
I promised you that I would have a few Easter things to post and you won't be sorry for visiting today with what I have in store for you. So here is what I have made:
* a post it note cover using some DP, perle 8 thread, some flowers and brads. You can find this quick little craft here.
* these cute little bunny gift bags. I got the idea from my Better Homes and Gardens magazine last year but they are making them again tonight on Channel 7 but you can find all the details here. You could probably use a biscuit cutter and change the image and use it as a gift bag for little ones birthday party.
* I made these little peek a boo cards for my family who are coming over for lunch on Easter Sunday. It is just a little something for them to wish them a Happy Easter. I found this little project over at Splitcoast Stampers.
* And lastly a quick little Chicky Easter card using some sparkly cardstock, a border punch, a distresse, rhinestones and some dimensionals.
I hope that you like all my little projects for this Easter, I'll try and space things out a little more next time. But if you have any questions then I'll be happy to answer them. Take care and enjoy your Easter everyone! Bye

Dawn's Colour Challenge #3

Hello there everyone! I have been busy crafting and looking at lots of blogs but not posting any of my work, sorry about that. I really wanted to participate this week in the challenge that Dawn posted and with a 30th birthday coming up I thought I would use this as the perfect opportunity to play. I got some of my inspiration from a picture in my latest Better Homes and Gardens magazine which had a little linen pouch with a strip of lace down the middle, with that idea I went with a shabby chic look! Not sure if passes that test but hopefully the birthday girl likes it. I hope that you are all having a lovely day and I will be back tomorrow with a few more Easter gift ideas for the little ones, not of the chocolate variety. Thanks for visiting. Bye!

Some Easter Treats

Hello everyone I hope that you are all enjoying your weekend so far my has been relaxing and productive at the same time. My family and I went to the movies today to see Monsters vs Aliens which we all enjoyed, a good movie for both adults and the children. Later on I went to visit Spotlight (my new favourite shop) to pick up a hot glue gun and got to work on some hair clips for some Easter gifts. They get so much chocolate that I decided to make a couple of things and limit the amount of chocolate I gave out so everyone will be happy. Thanks for visiting. Talk to you again soon. Bye!

Hello there! Sorry for not being a good blogger, like anything life gets busy and sometimes you just don't feel up to jumping on the computer and would rather just hang out.
