I love healthy easy snacks for my girls to go into their lunch boxes and I'm always looking for new ideas to try and I know you do too:)  So I was flipping through Feeding Fussy Kids and found a couple simple snacks I thought you might like to try too.

Tamari Seeds
1 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup pepitas (green pumpkin seeds)
2 teaspoons tamari or shoyu

Heat a non-stick fry pan.  Place the seeds into the pan (you don't need any oil).
Give them an occasional stir.  In a couple of minutes they will begin to brown and pop.
Turn off the heat and drizzle the tamari over the seeds.  Stir to coat the seeds evenly, and set aside to cool completely.

Store in an airtight jar.  Keeps for 1 month.

These seeds are yummy and crunchy with a slight salty taste which is very moreish.

Party Popcorn
cooked popcorn
vegetable oil
maple syrup

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius. Combine 6 cups ( I had less but it's up to you) of the cooked popcorn, 1 tablespoon of vegetable or nut oil and 1 1/2 tablespoons of pure maple syrup in a bowl and stir to coat evenly.  Arrange in a single layer on a lined oven tray.  Bake for 5-8 minutes or until corn is crisp.

The popcorn is a lovely sweet option without it being too sweet and sticky and my girls both love it.

If you feel like a quick and healthy muffin recipe for school lunches, Meagan's Sneaky Vegetable Muffins recipe is a winner.

It was Miss 7's easter bonnet parade today.  We came up with this little creation after some inspiration from here, it had to be pink and glittery:)  My little girl loves to run around and get dirty but she's still loves her pink and dresses.

What are you up to this Thursday? I'm having a craft day with a friend and her sweet baby girl.  I'll be busy making something for my nephew's birthday on Sunday, when I'm finished I'll show you what I came up with.  Thank you for all of the helpful suggestions, I'll be visiting that post for ideas for more boy birthdays.

Enjoy your Thursday xo

  5. Yum!!! We already make the seeds but I am sooooooo going to make that pop corn today. Sounds delish and such a great alternative to the salty type I usually make.
