Life

It's been a week full of many emotions.  I have had times of frustration and anger which I am not proud of.  I have felt a little sad about the behaviour of someone I know that I did not expect and moments of anxiousness. A horrible feeling of helplessness in witnessing something that any driver dreads, an innocent person hurt whilst crossing the road.  I believe that they are stable the only information given to me by the hospital.  These feelings I have allowed to get on top of me, it has been a little hard to step away and think with a logical perspective.  Writing it down now though has allowed me to stop and really see that it was not all bad. There have been some positive moments as well to balance out those negative feelings. I have had moments happiness at receiving the good news that the treatment that my father has been receiving has been working, the cancer is disappearing. It's not a cure for his condition as it cannot be cured but to know his body is fighting is so so wonderful.  Then I've had the joy of visiting school and seeing my little one have fun at her Science Expo and seeing the happiest of faces when she came home with her Student of the Week badge pinned to her collar.
Finishing a pair of slippers for the little one and seeing how much she enjoys wearing them.
The simple joy of seeing my garden grow, flowers on the tomato plants and on the zucchini plants and then the excitement of seeing my very first broccoli growing.
I'm sorry for the rambling, I like to keep this space happy for you to visit, I also like to express my emotions it's much healthier to do this then to keep things inside.  So tomorrow is a new day, it's the weekend and a new outlook is called for, leaving what has happened behind. Thank you for listening, may you all have a happy weekend and I look forward to seeing you Monday full of smiles.

Take care. xx

  4. I think it's good to share the difficult bits. the good bits wouldn't be as good without them! your focus on the things growing in your garden gave me a sense of peace- knowing that things continue to grow on regardless of difficulties we are facing is kind of reassuring to me. have a lovely week ahead. :) sarah

Catherine there is no need to apologise for expressing yourself so openly and honestly, it's great to be able to share both the good and and bad.
Really glad to hear your dad is responding to treatment and hope you and your beautiful family have a lovely weekend.

  8. Sorry to hear about the difficult time you are experiencing. Good news about your Dad. It's good to have a place to share not only the good, but the bad times as well. Helps us all feel less alone. And it's good that you acknowledge the little things in the life that make you happy. Big hugs to you.

  9. oh dear Catherine, a good and bad week. I appreciate that you have shared it, we are all human and the range of emotions we experience day to day, week to week can very enormously. It's all for good reason. Like my doctor said to me recently, it's ok to have a bad day and admit it. high 5 to your Dad... go Catherine's Dad!!! the garden is looking lovely, very talented of you to grow broccoli that isn't moth infested. sending you a hug. 13. hiya,, like others comments, no need to apologise, its best to share troubles than keep them to yourself, as the saying goes, a trouble shared is a trouble halved, or something like that lol, have been enjoying the photos in your earlier posts, beautifully taken and what a beautifull place you live in,
    take care

  15. What a week Catherine. I'm glad to hear your father is doing well with his treatment. You should feel free to share whatever you are feeling here in your little space - while we like to have a 'positive' space and share happy things, it's really important to share other feelings too because as you said, just writing down what you're going through often helps. I hope you've had a good weekend and that the week ahead is much better for you x

  18. Life can certainly deal up so many variants on the spectrum of emotions in any given day ...we process all those goings ons so differently....I think as long as we can still find the joys amongst or even after the trials we will be much more ready for the next set of trials that will surely come our way.
Fantastic news about your dad. xx

  19. There are times when all that's happening seems to overwhelm, but when we are able to step back and breathe, it all falls into place. This too shall pass. Writing and releasing also help to gain perspective. Good news about your dad. I've just had a lovely browse through your blog and have written down many recipe to try -- unfortunately, they are all for sweets, which I'm trying my best to curb. :) Hope your weekend is a good one.
