Our Week

How has your week been?  Are you feeling on top of Christmas planning?  I bet all of you have been busy, there's always so much to do this time of year, I hope that you are enjoying this time.  There are so many magical things to enjoy about Christmas, the times you get to share with those you love, good food, listening and singing carols, visiting the Christmas windows and all of those twinkling lights, they are my favourite, the simple things.
This week we:
• visited the Christmas windows in the city
• me snapping away while waiting for the Christmas train
• her last train ride, next year she'll be too tall
• the solar powered tree in the city
• City Hall
• walking over the bridge looking at Southbank
• the city at night
• visiting Christmas light displays (x3)
• celebrating my niece and nephew's 11th birthday
• splashing Dad
We also had a visit to the vet for Molly, Miss 13 discovered a paralysis tick on her while giving her a bath.  There were no signs at all that she had a tick considering the vet suggested she had it for about 3 days, she was very lucky. She's doing well, a simple removal and keeping her quiet for 48 hours and she's her usual self again.

Thank you for all of your kind words on my last post with a bit of a break it gave me a better outlook also a weekend with hubby home, things are feeling less overwhelming. I know these things are but small in the scheme of life  so I'm not going to dwell, there is much to be grateful for and energy spent on the good in life is energy well spent. There is still much to do some sewing, present wrapping and sending and some cooking too, I can't wait to make some rum balls I love having them at Christmas time.  I hope your week leading up to Christmas isn't too crazy and that you find some time to breathe and take in the magic around you.  ♥

Linking up with Em and Lou this week.

  1. Our weekend was good but it went way too fast! Luckily Corey is off work after Friday for two weeks so we get to spend more time with him. We are going to look at the christmas lights one night this week. I really want to go see the christmas windows but I don't know if we'll get time.

We are yet to visit the Christmas lights but are hoping to go one night this week. Enjoy your lead-up to Christmas x

  5. This is a super busy and overwhelming period, a lot of expectations one way or the other.
I feel very emotional for no particular reason, I am flying tomorrow to California, so I am making no preparations here but I enjoy looking at your festive pictures.

  10. Loving your gratitude, Catherine. I must say that I am taking it really easy. I have had a big year, what with 2 career moves and a house move. I am looking forward to a really simple Christmas with the focus on family. xxx

  11. The christmas lights are always a highlight for us Catherine as it's not something you see in NZ. It looks like you have had a grand time during your break.
Glad to hear that Molly is okay.

  13. Looks like wonderful times. I'm feeling very overwhelmed at the moment and so far behind. Everything I planned to do before our winter break (which starts Thursday afternoon) just won't get done in time. So rather than teacher and co-worker gifts -- guess they'll have to be New Years gifts. :) We have two weeks off for the holidays and I am sooooooooooooo looking forward to it. One thing on my list to do -- make granola for gift giving. Best wishes and happy holidays, Tammy

  17. I do miss the christmas light displays at this time of year. There are really some spectacular ones out there and what is christmas without a bit of excess? :) So glad you are feeling better. I think it can be very up and down this time of year, I know it is with me too. Sometimes full of energy and wanting to do everything and at other times burnt out and unmotivated. But that is life. Hope you can manage to take it a little easier this week xo

  18. I'm so glad to hear Molly's fine and that you found the tick on her before she got sick. She is very lucky indeed! I'm checking Frankie daily for ticks now, so worried she'll ge sick over the holidays..
