It's been a while since we've taken a holiday together, the last time was several years ago when we went to Tasmania. We try and keep things interesting around here by doing day trips here and there but there's nothing quite like getting away from it all and shaking up the routine and reconnecting. A couple of my friends were heading to the snow for the holidays, the budget didn't stretch that far for us but a couple of hours drive south to Stanthorpe gave us the crisp cold Winter feeling I was after and the bonus was that Molly could come too. The nights did get cold, not cold enough for a frost but cold enough to sit by the fire at night getting out the crochet, lots of tea drinking and marshmallow roasting. There was lots to do, bush walking, tasting local produce e.g. dessert for lunch a big favourite, visiting new shops, seeing lots of wildlife, enjoying the peace and serenity and best of all disconnecting from the outside world just for a few days which was just what we needed. We left feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and wishing our stay was longer but also wanting to get back home. Back to school tomorrow....
Family getaways are the best. So glad you had an enjoyable time away together and have returned feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Hope the girls have a good first day back at school tomorrow xx

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Catherine, looks like a lovely spot. Totally know what you mean about pet friendly holidays. The last time we went away, we left the cat with my parents and she went missing for 8 weeks in the bush, before a couple from Tasmania (would you believe) saw my lost note. So hard to leave her lost and travel 450km home wondering if we would ever find her. We haven't been away since.
ReplyDeletelooks spectacular, what a great holiday location
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a wonderful holiday, fantastic photos. xx
ReplyDeleteNothing better in Winter than a little break away. Holiday houses are just the best thing ever in my book! This one looks warm and inviting and with a lovely bush setting. Makes me want to head down to the coast again :)
