A day trip

We decided it was time to get out and about again, it's been a while since we've done some exploring. Our place of choice today was Beenleigh Historical Village. We've been to a few museums now together as a family. We all find it fascinating looking at things from the past, chatting about how hard times would have been and how hard people worked using the equipment they had. The girls are getting older now and for me it seems more important to make sure we continue these little adventures, to ensure our family bond stays strong, even if it takes some convincing at times that one will enjoy getting out and about.

Have you been on any family adventures lately? Did you enjoy going out with your family as you got older?

Wishing you all a lovely week ahead.

  2. Oh, all those vintage tins! I remember spending some time at the Derby School House Museum with my brother, sister, mum and nan back in the day. It was a great little museum and I remember having an iced coffee at the cafe. They have an FB page if you want to check it out! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Derby-Schoolhouse-Museum/167876106579193

I haven't been there since - might have to have another look one day! :)

  6. Yes beautiful photos Catherine. I totally agree that spending time together as a family is so important and nourishing in many ways, our boys are still little so there is not the same resistance that I imaging happens with teenagers but I think even through the resistance pleasure is found so persevere! x

  8. It's so wonderful (and important!) to go on adventures. And I remember being quite keen to keep doing just that as I grew up...I'm sure there was always a hot chocolate involved so I'm sure that helped too. Beautiful images of a beautiful family. I hope your week is a lovely one :) xx

  9. Just love these photos of your day together! We love nothing better than a bit of exploring together as a family, though we don't do it anywhere as much as I would like. We've just come back from an extended long weekend in Byron Bay - magic!
