179/365 'Sunday Snippets'

Potato wedges for lunch cooked for around 30 mins at 190 ℃ in coconut oil with a sprinkling of pink salt. Yummy with a little bit of sweet chilli sauce and sour cream if you have any.
My girls sitting together painting their nails, their holiday ritual.
I'm now knitting colour number seven, yellow.  It's the last colour to knit and then I'm finished.
I tried to get a cute photo of Miss 10 lying on her bed reading but alas she wasn't quite in the mood.  But sitting on her beside table is her collection of lego, crystal, clock, bits and bobs and a precious photo of my Dad.
I made my first batch of almond butter today just because.  It is such a simple recipe, 2 cups of almonds, a pinch of salt and process until smooth which takes approximately 15-20 minutes.  You can add a tablespoon of honey too if you want some sweetness.  I used this recipe to make mine today.

How was your Sunday?

  1. Potato wedges, I love them. I love that your girls sit and paint their nails together. Your blanket Catherine is gorgeous! Beautiful colours. There are a lot of hours in there, but well spent hours. Thank you so much Catherine for your thoughtful comments on my blog tonight. I really appreciate it. I'll reply to your comment tomorrow when I'm fresher. I hope you have a lovely time with your girls on their holidays. Do you have any plans? xxoo

  3. Your wedges are so perfectly cut (and sound yummy!!) I've been wanting to try making almond butter myself, but I'm not sure if my basic food processor would do such a tough/long job and so I haven't tried as I'm worried I'll burn out the motor or something! :) I bought my last jar from our health food store, but it was nowhere near as delicious as the homemade one at a local cafe I had a while back. Love seeing little snippets into your home and family life xx

  4. Your almond butter looks yum! I've only tried making it once before and it was a bit average. You've prompted me to give it another go.

  5. I'm tempted by the idea of almond butter. Do you use it in a similar way to peanut butter? On toast or sandwiches? I've spied your Kitchen Aid in past photos. Did you use this to make it? I have the food processor but not the blender so not sure if I have the right equipment to have a go?

  7. Oh your knitting is so cheery. I haven't been reading blogs much this year but I always loved your space and it's lovely to pop back in to see what you're up to.
