Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope all of you had a good day today. Did you do anything to celebrate? My hubby and I have a monthly date which this month happened to fall on Valentine's Day so we got to spend it together this year, it's always nice to get in some adult time together. So today we went to the movies to go and see Valentine's Day. It was a pretty light and fluffy kind of movie but I really enjoyed it.

Last week I gave you a peek into my creative space and showed you what I was making for my hubby but I hadn't finished anything. Everything was ready to give him today so I thought I would show you the finished products. The card which I really enjoyed making, stitching it was so much fun and I love the effect. I might try this technique out a bit more I think. The scrap booking page with a mounted picture and a sentiment I found on the internet. There are heaps out there and some great ones for birthday messages too if you get stuck for things to write. And the shadow box with the rock heart. To get the effect of the backing board I mounted the heart on, I firstly painted the board red and then glued strands of red cotton to cover the entire board. When the cotton was dry I cut the overhanging strands and then popped a dimensional under the heart and put it all in the shadow box, easy and the cotton adds a bit of interest I think. I just thought I would think outside the box (ha ha) and give something different a try.

Anyway I better get off to bed now, feeling a bit tired and tomorrow I'm heading to the gym so I better get that energy up so I'm all ready to go go go, I'll give it a try anyway;)

Talk soon.

My Creative Space

My creative space is all about L O V E..... I know a bit soppy but I do like to do a little something for my hubby and what's Valentine's Day without a bit of homemade goodness. We don't go all out for Valentine's Day and we both had a small budget so mine are pretty much all handmade. At stamping this week we did a scrapbook layout and loved the colours of the paper and thought they were perfect for him but not quite finished, a card with some back stitch on it waiting to be finished, a small frame with a heart rock I found on the beach also waiting to be finished. (better get at wriggle on:) And I also have some ribbon and elastic to make into some headbands for a little girl's birthday. I found a great tutorial over here for the headbands.

Thanks for popping by, if you want to see what everyone else has been creating stop by Kirsty's.

Happy School Holidays!

Hello and Happy School Holidays to some of you! Today was the first day of holidays here in Queensland and it was a beautiful start. We have a busy holiday ahead of us with plans to catch with friends at the Museum, off to see Hannah Montanna, visiting Dad at work in the city and some cooking and craft. What have you got planned for your holidays?

On to some craft. I have been busy making some cards, some craft and a bit of scrapbooking. Don't be to critical of my scrapbooking, I'm definitely not expert. The other week I went to my weekly stamping class and we did a layout using some guides and a Stampin Up scrapping kit. When I saw the colours I thought of my god daughter and her birthday and decided to make it for her

Her Mum also said she was keen to have a lockable diary and I thought I can make one of those. After visiting Mel's blog and seeing the art book that she made for her daughter Bella I thought with some alteration that I can make a chipboard cover into a lockable diary and so I did. With some pretty paper, a hole punch, some paper, eyelets and some rings I was off. My advice is to make sure that when you choose eyelets they are definitely jumbo to go through the layer of paper and chipboard also when you chose to put the eyelets in make sure they aren't too far into the cover otherwise the lock won't be able to fit around the cover and around to the other side. And to keep with the bright and happy theme I made this card for her.
It doesn't stop there, my Little Miss 5 had a birthday party to go to today so I made this card with the request by her that it had a car on it. (very cute!)

Well that's it for me today. Thank you again for stopping by and I hope to see you all again soon.

Hello, hello, hello!

Yes I am still here and have been creating but not very good at keeping my little blog up to date, sorry about that. (very naughty I know) Anyway because I have been busy making things but not uploading them I have a few to share with you and so that's my excuse for not putting in all the materials because there is just too many to list. Of course if you want to know what I have used I am more than happy to let you know if you are interested so leave a comment and I'll surely get back to you. One of my little projects was a matchbook card which I made for a lady in my stamping class for her birthday. I got the idea from Sherelle's Blog, I just came up with the measurements for the mints I put inside. It was really pretty easy and quick. The other projects include a little post it holder and card made in stamping class and also a scrapbooking page I just had to make for my little girl's first day of prep.

And a little something that is totally unrelated to stamping is this pretty little book that I picked up yesterday at a local book/bead/music shop which I couldn't resist. You just never know when you might need a book like this. lol.
Anyway folks I hope this makes up for my lack of posting for the last week, hope you are all doing well. Talk soon.
