Bib, Burp Cloths and Beets

The girls had a student free day today and my hubby decided to take the day off too, it was so nice to have a long weekend together it should be a long weekend every weekend I think.  Life is always so busy that every chance to relax is one we like to take so it was good to have another day at home. The lawn got mowed so the yard looks neat and tidy now, just in time for the girls to go outside and play together.
We had lamb with rosemary and garlic and roasted beetroot picked straight from the garden.

This weekend I sewed and sewed bibs and burp cloths for babies arriving soon, I love newborn babies.  It reminds me though my little niece isn't so little anymore, she'll be one on Sunday so there is no more procrastinating I need to sew the Poppy doll, wish me luck

  1. What a beautiful bounty, Catharine. They baby items are fantastic, too. I once bought a some fabric and terry cloth to sew some up myself, but the fabric still sits with all the other yards and yards in a tote in the basement. SIGH.. Someday...

  3. Long weekends are always lovely. How nice you could have the extra day together. My friend's husband works only 4 days a week and has Mondays off which I think must be nice for them all. Your burp cloths and bibs are so lovely. Hope the Poppy doll goes well... x

  6. Such sweet sewing. Lovely. And those beets look delicious too. I just harvested some from my garden this past weekend... they're on the counter waiting to be cooked.

  8. What gorgeous bubby treats! I'm all inspired to whip some up for my little bundle who will be here before we know it. And our beetroots must be nearly ready to harvest...our leaves look about the same size as yours. Hope all is lovely in your world :) x
