203-209/365 Just like that another week

has flown by and my hopes for blogging everyday have gone by the wayside.  I really did want to pop in here each day but the photo taking and the uploading and the writing and the can't be bothered when the time rolls around each evening got the better of me.  A new routine for blog writing really needs to be set I think, change it up and blog in the morning rather than the evening when I don't feel it might help this lack of daily posts.  This past week has been a little busy with my birthday and another family member celebrating their birthday, as well as a friend meant for lots of card making and birthday present buying.  Next month is a quiet month for birthdays which will be nice.  I did do the usual baking; we have had a little visitor belonging to our neighbours roaming our backyard which has escaped and is proving difficult to catch; pretty flowers; my little visitor painting and a lovely time spent with my friend.

What I was thinking of was maybe doing a series of posts that relate to some topics that I am passionate about like maybe cooking, organics, health, making, organisation etc.  What do you think? Is there anything that you would like to ask me or curious to know about any of those topics?

Thanks so much for popping in to visit.

65/365 Happy Birthday Molly

I was never someone who made a big deal about their pets birthday, sadly for my poor cat Tiffany who I loved very much.  But since we have had Molly, the girls love to remember her birthday and make a little bit of a fuss.  So to celebrate her turning 8 years old today, we gave her a special meal and a new toy, there was some happy birthday singing too.  Do you like celebrate your pets birthday?

37-39/365

Take two with pet fish for Miss 10. I'm sad to say that Boggles did not make it.  Poor Miss 10 was quite upset to make the discovery this morning.  So with her Dad she set off today and bought three more smaller fish, Goldy, Boggley and Candy.
There are lots of good articles in here this month.
Baking today Banana and Chia Seed Muffins.

I hope your Sunday has been a lovely one.

Squawky is on the right
It was a bit of a sad morning today.  Miss 12's budgie Squawky passed away after being ill all day yesterday. We made him comfortable hoping that just maybe he would recover but he didn't.  He was around 5 years old, a Christmas gift from her grandparents.  I found it hard to watch him so ill, a living being loosing their life and not being able to do anything to help, perhaps it has a little to do with how I feel at the moment.  Our verandah is now a little quieter today with out the noise of Squawky.
May your weekend be a wonderful one.

Weekend Catchup

So the weekend has been and gone by so fast that I didn't get a catch up and share with you some of our happenings. The long weekends have meant some homely and family catch up and time to relax.
We went to the flea market but maybe a bit late because I didn't find any bargains:( or chickens either so on our way home we stopped at the produce and picked up two Lohman Brown point of lay hens to join our family. So far the hens have had some adjusting to make and learn the pecking order of the hen house so I hopefully they all end up being friends soon.(lol)

There was a bit of bubble blowing and playing with the puppy outside, she is so much fun and very playful. Bubbles are a wonderful activity for children to be involved in, chasing them; looking at the colours on the bubble; popping them and watching them blow in the wind.

And on the weekend I taught my older daughter how to knit. She has been watching me knit washcloths and has been asking to be taught. So with some pretty pink needles and some wool we started learning to cast on and then the basic knit stitch. You don't realise until you teach someone that learning a new skill can be tricky but she got the hang of it quite quickly.

I hope you are enjoying your week.
