Happy Mail

A little bit of vintage prettiness made it's way to my front door yesterday morning, I do love getting parcels addressed to me.  Inside was a lovely colour selection of fat quarters, now I just need to work out a little project to use some of them now...... Thanks so much again Kel for organising such a great swap.

Hope your Tuesday is a terrific one

Vintage Sheet Swap

I was on a mission yesterday to find myself a vintage sheet, I was lucky to find a pretty pink rose one to cut up and send to Kel for her vintage sheet swap.  So my little pile is now cut up and waiting for me to put in the post.  I can't wait to see what loveliness will make its way into my letterbox.  There is still time to sign up  if you would like some vintage sheet goodness.

Have a wonderful weekend I hope that you get some Summer sunshine your way

A Finished Lap Quilt

After many hours I have finished the vintage fabric lap quilt for my friend.  It's a little wonky, not quite as even as it was meant to be. I'm still not sure why one side is 3cm shorter than the other mmm but it's full of character and oh so soft and squashy. It measures 102cm by 105 cm a good size to snuggle under while sitting on the lounge. This is my first larger size quilt I have made a little doll picnic blanket before and a patchwork pillow but nothing on this scale. So I'm please with how it turned out and that I didn't take too long to make, I think it may have something to do with the fact that today I'll be catching up with my friend and I don't know if I'll see her again before she leaves on the rest of her travels. To help me along with the quilt I referred to a few helpful tutorials here, here and here.
We've been having a bit of rain here the last few days and last night I could here the croaking of a frog. It was quite loud and I thought it may have been in a pipe but this morning I discovered it sitting happily in my watering can.

Have a great Sunday

A bit of pretty vintage

Yesterday I went out my front door and found a parcel addressed to me which was exciting.  I was lucky enough to win a blog giveaway that Lea was having during blogtober.
And what did I win, a parcel full of beautiful vintage fabric, some gift tags made from vintage books, music paper and wall paper and some envelopes made out of maps.  Thank you so much Lea I think now I will have just the right amount of vintage fabric with your pretty addition to make that quilt  I've been wanting to make for a while.

Have a wonderful weekend
