My Creative Space

My space today looks less productive than I've been.  Yesterday I started on a baby beanie but counted how many stitches I had and discovered I had somehow increased it by one.  I know it's not a big deal but it's a gift so I've unravelled it, so tonight I'll start again, take a bit longer and count my stitches this time.....
A friend of my asked me recently if I could make some scalloped bunting for a baby due next month.  She doesn't know whether the baby is a boy or girl so she asked if I could use brown and orange in the bunting, I really love the combination.

To see what other people have been busy creating this week, stop by here

  1. The bunting looks lovely - great fabric choices. I like the scalloped look. I hope one day I'll be good enough at crocheting to make a beanie like yours, it's a very cute pattern. I've been looking at similar style ones online for Grace as she lost/misplaced hers last week :)

Thanks for stopping my my blog! You are quite the crafter, wow! I love the bunting, I haven't tried the scalloped edged one yet, triangles seem so much easier to maneuver through the machine ;)
    Happy crafting!! xx

  3. I love the bunting. You will have to ask your friend for a photo when she has put it in the baby's room so we can see it!

  4. Scalloped bunting is a lovely idea, besides buntings are so joyful and festive.

I made a scalloped bunting for twin girls last year that was rather cute but I love the fabric combination you are using :)

As for your crochet...I have learnt to be notorious with keeping track of my stitches after having to unravel too many projects to cound.

    Happy crafting Catherine.

  6. Love the colours for the bunting. Nothing worse when you end up with more stitches.

  7. Ooooo... so much baby-loveliness. I'm going to start baby crafting soon... just got to get the older two dressed for winter and then I'm going to throw myself into baby crafting and nesting in earnest!!!

  8. I would love to have a go at a beanie one day, maybe if I keep practicing I'll get there... though I struggle to even follow the pattern for a simple flower - somehow they all come out differently! Lucky I like a bit of wonky.

Lots of babyness around!I find reading crochet pattern like trying to read in a foreign unknown language, I am saved when I see the picture...Hope you get the correct count. It has been a bit of a struggle on the cancan yarn, somehow I am glad it is "messy looking" so noone can see the mistakes :)!Have fun Catherine x:)
