Squawky is on the right
It was a bit of a sad morning today.  Miss 12's budgie Squawky passed away after being ill all day yesterday. We made him comfortable hoping that just maybe he would recover but he didn't.  He was around 5 years old, a Christmas gift from her grandparents.  I found it hard to watch him so ill, a living being loosing their life and not being able to do anything to help, perhaps it has a little to do with how I feel at the moment.  Our verandah is now a little quieter today with out the noise of Squawky.
May your weekend be a wonderful one.

  1. Sorry to hear little Squawky passing on. Loosing a pet in your family is never easy, as they are such a big part of your life. At least he is now at peace. Hope you & Miss 12 are doing ok. Wishing you also a nice long weekend ahead:) Nx

  4. So sorry for your family's loss. I hope Miss 12 is coping ok. Be sure to look after your other feathered friend because they grieve too. Birds are sensitive creatures. And have awesome personalities too.

  9. I feel for your daughter. It's hard losing a pet. Is the other bird going to struggle with being alone? I hope the rest of the weekend goes better.

  11. Hello Catherine, I just found your lovely blog via Dear Olive. Such a pleasure to find your space, really enjoyed your photos and seeing your craft. Sorry though to read about your Dad having cancer, in my experience of friends and family having cancer it is the unknown and unpredictability of the illness that is difficult to sit with. I hope your yoga practice brings you all the clarity and inner calm possible. Peace to you and your family. I hope your daughter finds a creative way of honoring her pets life. I look forward to visiting here again. Nikki x

  14. Hello lovely, things are not getting better huh? These are really bought times and you have no choice but to sit with the discomfort and just hold things. Try and practice "being in the moment" - google mindfulness and mindfulness exercises, truly it will help, not the ultimate answer but it will help with this discomfort.

On a lighter note, your photography is just zooming along (no pun intended) - take care xxx
