131/365 'Mother's Day'

How was your mother's day?  Did you get spoilt, I hope so.
My mother's day was simple, cuddles, thoughtful gifts, handmade cards, breakfast and then after dinner tonight a yummy dessert made by
Miss 10.
We also spent time at my Mum's for morning tea which didn't end till we left at 3 o'clock, a perfect day...
Handmade cards made by Miss 14. (Photo taken by my hubby)
Watching with anticipation the big unwrapping.
My Mum's new bathroom almost finished.
Me taking a selfie in her new bathroom.
A flower gifted to me, tucked safely in my pocket.

103/365 'Sunday Stills'

Their was some time spent at my Mum's today she's doing some renovating and needed some man power, which means hubby and my brother's help were required.
Miss 10's interest in rainbow looming continues.
This is my mother's dog Buster.  He's growing old, seemingly older since my Dad's passing sadly.
A little wander in the garden through the sprinkles of rain.  There was a walk planned to the creek but the weather wasn't on our side today although I'm enjoying curling up today with a tea and a cardigan on.

How has your weekend been?
Joining Em today.

16/52

A day spent at my Mum and Dad's.  I went for a walk later in the cool of the
afternoon, enjoying the lower golden light. The fresh new paint, the dappled light, the reflections and
the ripples in the water whilst listening to the chorus of the sakatas.

Thursday, October 4

It was a drive into the country today for us, a visit to my parents home, my home as a teenager. Spring I have noticed today is at it's most visible at my parents home. My father has been busy, pruning, watering and fertilising and you can see as you walk around their property the most lush grape vines, mulberries waiting to ripen, buds on the citrus, macadamia nuts forming, busy bees and a beautiful array of flowers. Every time I leave I am grateful to still have this place to come to, to have my parents to visit and to come home with a sense of peace and appreciation for the beauty of nature.

Mum and Dad's

The girls and I took a trip to my Mum and Dad's today, enjoying the last week of freedom before they return to school and time tables, also there was a much needed haircut for a couple of very eager girls. As I drive there I feel the peace and calmness wash over me, looking out my window I see the wide open spaces of the country side appear before my eyes. I never truly appreciated what a beautiful place the country was until I became older. To me sitting on the back deck breathing in the fresh air, listening to the rustling of the trees makes me happy. My father over the years has created a beautiful garden full of flowers, fruit trees, grapes and hives of Australian native bees.  Today I took my camera along and went for a walk around his garden I thought you might like to come for a walk with me and explore the sights.
Today I came home with a big bag of lemons,  some limes,  a  tangelo or two and a few passion fruit. I'm so grateful for all the hard work my father has put into his garden, he is such a hard working man, always has and always will be.  I think a lemon meringue pie might have to be made this weekend.

Monday, April 25

It's been a weekend for family and today it was time to spend it at my Mum and Dad's house.  They live a bit of a drive from where we live, in the country and it's been a while since we've visited, too long.  When I lived at home I longed to live in the city the country just wasn't me but now all I want is to move back to the simple life of where I grew up as a teenager.  For now though, I can visit anytime and enjoy the peacefulness that visiting the country brings because they surely won't be moving to the big smoke any time soon. ♡

Monday, April 4

I've been getting itchy feet lately.  Not literally but I've been wanting to explore, to see something new.  It's been a year since we visited Tasmania and we would love to go again but a big trip like that won't be happening for a while, so for now we will explore closer to home.  We drove to some country markets and stopped for a bit of morning tea then stopped again for a little train ride, then we drove some more.

Not sure where to set up our picnic, we drove on to discover a real gem.  It was quiet, probably due to the miserable weather, but with tables, bbq's and swings it was the place for lunch.
Do you like to go exploring in the country? Have you ever not planned where to stop and just driven?  I hope your week is full of wonderful discoveries. xo
