My Creative Space

It's been a while since I've joined in it seems, a while since I've had anything much to share of the crafty variety.  But this last week I've been doing a bit of crocheting.  My brother and sister in law are expecting their 3rd baby in a few weeks so I've started this Rainbow Ripple Blanket I found on Ravelry. I decided not to make it a rainbow of colours because I don't know what gender the baby will be so I thought a plain colour like white would be perfect for either a boy or girl.
I also made myself this crochet flower brooch, the pattern found in this book. I plan on putting it onto a bag that I'm still to sew up for myself.
There was also some fabric decision making for Miss 12's birthday party.  This bundle of fabrics is going to be made into some bunting to hang up at her birthday party.
I'm joining in here today.

  6. What a treasured gift your blanket will be. My aunt made me one when Grace was born and I was so grateful for all the time and love that went into it, just as I'm sure your brother and sister-in-law will feel about yours. Love the bunting fabrics and your brooch is cute. Is it something a beginner like me could attempt or is it a more advanced project?

  11. That blanket is going to look beautiful. I like your use of a neutral colour as I think it will show off the texture really well. All the best with the birthday plans. I remember frantically sewing loads of bunting (done very simply with pinking shears and twine) the night before Luca's last birthday. The good thing is it can be saved for next time.

  12. The croteched blanket will be beautiful, what a lovely gift for a new born. We got given a white knitted blanket when our second daughter was born & still cherish it now. It was the softest thing to wrap my babies in:) Nx
