Tomorrow at school it's 'Pirate Day', they get to dress up as pirates and donate a gold coin to a worthy cause. At first I was daunted and I have to say with it also being the last day, well a bit tired too. But I went searching in on the internet for ideas and then through her draws to see what we could come up with so we didn't have to spend a fortune for just one day and then the ideas started to come to me. In her draws she already had a top, shirt and leggings and to finish off her outfit I sewed up a little vest using felt and some leftover bias binding from her other dress up outfit, made an eye patch and a hook for her hand and the ribbon is for her waist and to use around her head, pirate outfit complete! I have to say best of all it meets with happy approval too, Miss 8 is always very sweet with whatever I make for her, mostly......
To see what other have been busy creating stop by here for a little look.
I think that is the best pirate outfit I have ever seen = )

ReplyDeleteLove your hook. I'm going to show my boy this tomorrow when he is awake... bet you money he'll be inspired and make one himself.
Very cute Catherine!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I was sick when they sprung Pirate day on us at school so I begged my Mum to go and buy a costume. If only my Mum was crafty I could have gotten her to make the kids something.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little pirate outfit..!
