Arrrrrrgh!!

My little pirate all dressed up for her Pirate Day.  At the last minute I was scratching around to find something to create the scar and down the very bottom was a little bit of old eye shadow which did the trick. It's hard finding make up in my cupboard these days I keep it to a minimum but I really should invest in a little bit more though, but the need to wear now isn't what it used to be and I'm not that great at the whole putting on makeup thing either really.
I'm so glad it's Friday, it's the last day of term and the girls have 2 weeks holiday.  I love the sleep ins, doing as we please and not having any time constraints.  As I was cleaning I was thinking of all the things I would love to do, go to the beach, a few catch ups with friends would be nice, a pj day, some baking and craft.  Hopefully we get to do some of these but just being together is perfect in my eyes.  Well it's also the weekend so have a wonderful weekend my friends, no big plans have been made but some time out in nature is on my list of to do's. Take care and have fun.

My Creative Space

Tomorrow at school it's 'Pirate Day', they get to dress up as pirates and donate a gold coin to a worthy cause.   At first I was daunted and I have to say with it also being the last day, well a bit tired too. But I went searching in on the internet for ideas and then through her draws to see what we could come up with so we didn't have to spend a fortune for just one day and then the ideas started to come to me.  In her draws she already had a top, shirt and leggings and to finish off her outfit I sewed up a little vest using felt and some leftover bias binding from her other dress up outfit, made an eye patch and a hook for her hand and the ribbon is for her waist and to use around her head, pirate outfit complete!  I have to say best of all it meets with happy approval too, Miss 8 is always very sweet with whatever I make for her, mostly......

To see what other have been busy creating stop by here for a little look.

Book Week

Today was our Book Week celebrations. The tool belt was sewn, the clothes chosen for the day, some other props picked up from Spotlight and the other from our visit to the art gallery earlier in the year and Miss 6 was ready on a budget. Miss 10 didn't want to dress up today:( I think that it's probably her age as well as not liking the theme! Oh well maybe next year. During the parade we have some performances done by different classes. Today one of the Year 5 classes copied this U Tube video and did it in front of the parade, it sounded great.

My next dress up venture is an outfit for Miss 6 for their classroom theme - Superheros and she wants to be Supergirl so stay tuned for our next dress up adventure!

It's freezing here today so I'm drinking lots of tea to keep warm I'm hoping the sun will shine tomorrow to get some
of that washing in the machine and onto the line, it's piling up quickly.

Here's a sunny flower I bought the other day when I went shopping, just for you.
