It doesn't seem like that long ago that I posted a picture of my calendar for the month of November and here I am doing it again for December, how did you make your appearance so quickly! The first of December arrived and I was ready to decorate the tree but we had to wait till the night rolled around, for Miss 8 it didn't seem like the right thing to do during the day. The decorations came out each of us has our own box, as we take each out we often talk about where they have come from, my girls are sentimental too it seems. The music was put on to get us in that Christmas mood and there was lots of excitement in the air except poor hubby didn't feel quite as excited as the rest of us. We attempted a family photo using the self timer, must practice that again before next Christmas but I'm sure we'll look back on it fondly. There is something magical about the night and Christmas lights isn't there, I'm a bit of a kid at heart I think.
Hoping the happy Christmas spirit has made it's way into your home♥
sweet photos to remember ... the festive season sure puts big smiles on faces. a happy time! x
ReplyDeleteYour girls look very happy in that pic. We did our tree, must find the Christmas carols cd. I was trying not to channel my inner grinch as the kids excitedly pulled out every single decoration, strew them across the lounge room and then promptly lost enthusiasm for actually doing the decorating! mel x
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful photos of this special time of year.x
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun night getting into the Christmas spirit in your household :) Such a fun family tradition. The girls loved decorating ours on the weekend too - Sophie was in awe of all the sparkling baubles (our tree has already been pulled over by her trying to take them off) and Grace is in love with tinsel :)
ReplyDeleteLovely photos Catherine. I'm visiting from Carol's blog. I read your comment that you're expecting 41 degree heat...how terrible! Hope you're able to keep cool :-) I tend to whinge about the heat in summer but I haven't experiences temps that high...yet! lol
ReplyDeleteI love decorating the tree so much - one of my favourite day - I must be a big kid too!
ReplyDeleteOur mismatched homemade decorations just have so many memories - I'm always heartbroken if they don't survive.
Love how alike you and your eldest are looking
Enjoy December!!

I love your family portrait! So much more fun than a line of forced smiles!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea to have separate boxes Catherine...so special. I love the joy on your faces...looks like a wonderful night. I just wrote about trying to find my Christmas spirit and embrace some simplicity at this time...so your post was very timely for me to read...i see so much spirit in your family...thanks for sharing it with us xx
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun way to begin December. We are waiting for our twins to return so we can have belated birthday celebrations....then we'll be ready to think of Christmas (and likely decorate while my husband is at work as he's equally uninterested as yours). Your girls certainly have had a fun time setting things up, love Miss 8's big smile.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun, we had a great day putting up our tree and celebrating my eldest daughter's 12th birthday.
ReplyDeleteI'm a kid at heart too ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your tinkly light photos.
And I had a little giggle at the photo of your husband snoozing through it all.
I hope you have a beautiful week Catherine.
