137-139/365 Flowers, Books and Food

These gorgeous flowers were given to me by my youngest for Mother's Day and they are still looking as beautiful as ever. Some simple, yet delicious pikelets for afternoon tea were a real treat to have.  And my new monthly collection of books from the library. I managed to get quite few new books which was great.  How has your weekend been so far? Have you watched the royal wedding?

131-136 A mixed bag

Well it has been a few days since I have posted.  I listened to a podcast last Friday that spoke about the importance of taking a digital detox day each week.  On Sunday as it was Mother's Day I thought it would be the perfect day not to log on. I had moments of wanting to share but then those moments passed and I really enjoyed the space it gave me.  I have still be logging on most days since then but have wanted to take a little break from posting.  Anyway here is a little visual catch up of what I have been doing since last Thursday. There has been a lot of card making, a trip to Toowoomba to celebrate Mother's Day with my girls, some seeds for planting and my favourite drink in the afternoon that makes me feel nice and relaxed ready for the afternoon. The Return of blogging

Well hello there.  How have you been?  I have been good.  When you have been away from a space it's hard to know where to start.  What has been happening?  To be honest just life.  I had mentioned that we had been having issues with my Nan's estate, well I am happy to say that has all been finalised which is a big relief.  The big stressful part is over which I am grateful for.  My big girl finished school and is at uni so life is looking a little different now.  I am a Mum to a school girl and to one who is almost an adult and needs to spread her wings which is hard for this over protective Mum.  We have been doing a little bit of renovating which has been nice, it's been a while. It feels nice to have a few projects that have been on our list for years getting checked off. We are still to paint the house but that will happening soon.  And there has been some holiday planning too, which is exciting. I think that pretty much sums up life for the last few months.  

On Sunday it was Mother's Day so I asked my family to take me to Toowoomba for a picnic and a walk through the beautiful parks they have up there.  It is always nice to explore and to continue with our traditions too. It is nice to experience a little Autumn close to home and to enjoy it with my family.  So here are some photos of Mother's Day I took as we wandered around exploring our favourite spots.

Mother's Day - Ten on the Tenth

Mother's Day this year was just my hubby and the girls.  I had told them I really wanted to go for a drive to Toowoomba with them and have a picnic lunch, nothing flash just something simple, all of us together. We took our time in the morning not rushing about and made the long drive and it was worth it.  We found our own little picnic spot and took in the view while having lunch.  There was a bit of exploring done, looking for some Autumn and we were not disappointed.  I would have to say my day was just beautiful, being with my loving family and being loved by them, perfect.

131/365 'Mother's Day'

How was your mother's day?  Did you get spoilt, I hope so.

My mother's day was simple, cuddles, thoughtful gifts, handmade cards, breakfast and then after dinner tonight a yummy dessert made by
Miss 10.
We also spent time at my Mum's for morning tea which didn't end till we left at 3 o'clock, a perfect day...

Thank you to the lovely people who left messages of support on my last post, I really do appreciate your caring words.  I know that I have talked about my Dad a lot recently, it is on my mind always and it is a challenge working through my emotions. I think with events like Easter and birthdays it just makes working through those emotions a little harder but I am getting there slowly and I really appreciate you all being here with me during this time.  My blog is all about me and my life, sad and happy. I won't always talk about my feelings regarding my Dad but for those who have experienced a loss so close will understand the journey and for those who have not may find comfort knowing that all you feel is perfectly normal too. My focus is to talk about more happy because there is so much  I have to be happy and grateful for, my family and my friends and you my blogging friends, thank you. So here is what the last few days looked like for me.

Dinner out to celebrate my Dad's birthday.  We had such a wonderful time, something we will definitely be doing again next year.

The day spent with my mother in law for mother's day.  Tomorrow we will be at my Mum's celebrating with her both mother's day and her birthday, always such a busy time of year.
