I was really in the mood to do a bit of yard work. I actually really enjoy raking and with Autumn behind us I thought I would do a bit of tidying in the yard. There were sooo many leaves to rake I ended up filling up the trailer and hardly touched much of the yard at all. The area I did rake looks a lot better and now when my little visitor comes it will be much nicer for her to play in that space. The garden is a little slow growing but we have some new flowers. And today was my baking day. I made some chocolate macaroons, a recipe by Lola Berry and some simple chocolate cupcakes. How has your weekend been?

125/365 Date Day
It was date day for hubby and I. We dropped off our youngest for a nice visit with her Grandmother and we took a drive to a little country town for lunch. And what a lovely unexpected find and a delicious meal for us both to enjoy. I hope you enjoyed your Saturday.

118/365 Library Haul
This weekend we are having a quiet couple of days at home which is what I need after having a couple of moles removed from my legs this week. So today we headed to the library to feed our need of some good reading material. Here is my lovely selection of books I found today. I can't wait to start reading tonight.

104/365 Fish and Chips by the Bay
The school holidays are coming to an end for us very soon and one of the things left on the list was to go and have some fish and chips by the bay. We woke to a bit of a dreary morning here, perfect jean weather for me, and thought we would brave it and go just the same. It actually ended up being the perfect weather. We got a few sprinkles of rain on us but really that was it. It was calm, not the usual windy day, no crowds so lovely to sit and enjoy time together.

From last weekend
On Sunday we got up, packed some homemade treats and made the drive west to visit my Mum and Nan. It's been too long in between visits, life seems to be busy and when the days are free I like to potter around home. I still miss my Dad terribly when I go to visit my Mum but I don't let on, I am so very grateful to have my Mum and my Nan to visit and so it is important to make that my focus but it is hard. When I do visit I always enjoy being in the family, surrounded by memories, open space and the free feeling of being close to nature. Here are a few photos from our day. I hope you have had the most wonderful weekend. I'll be back tomorrow with photos of our Sunday.
Monday, October 15
How was your weekend? We caught up with family enjoying a homemade lunch and a yummy dessert thanks to my mother in law. On the way home we stopped by the bookshop so I could pick up a copy of this book, I'm almost finished the first.
Sunday was spent doing things around home, some baking for school lunches, washing my very dirty car and making some birthday cards.
While I was busy the girls played happily, Miss 8 rediscovering her doll and having a wonderful time looking after it and changing her clothes. Miss 13 could be found cutting and gluing, I'm sure she will become a pastry chef when she grows up, she loves making anything sweet.
Tonight I will find out how I went in the photo competition, to say I'm nervous is an understatement. I will let you know how I go either way, I'm crossing my fingers.
Wishing you a wonderful Monday.
