I am a Mum to two daughters so when it comes to gifts for boys I'm pretty clueless. When I buy things I usually go for Lego because it's pretty safe but I want to give handmade and this time I found something pretty clever I thought a boy turning 7 might like.
I was watching Martha one day when this segment came on turning an ordinary shirt into something a bit cool and different. Yesterday I thought I'd give it a try, I was a bit worried sewing stretch on stretch but with some help from the ladies at the sewing shop and hearing Kate's voice in my head saying it wasn't so bad,I did it and had fun too! I hope he likes it:)

Oh totally creepy & boy perfection, love it!! Well done & i hear you on the boy gift dilema, after 3 daughters, i was excited about buying things for my son but he's into Lego so it's easy. He's also a big fan of handmade softies, they are investment pieces though, not so much the party gift. Love Posie
ReplyDeleteYou have done a great job - very creepy ;). x Leah
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff. Very creative! I've done so little sewing in the last 6 months, it's terrible. I think I might get quilting again soon. I just haven't gotten into any rhythm with my creativity lately.
ReplyDeleteI think its hilarious that I was bossing you about inside your head. I think you did a brilliant job of the t'shirt too. the best boy handmade thing I've seen in ages.
