My Place and Yours - On the wall

My mother in law is a wonderful crafter.  She sews including making my wedding dress and my bridesmaids dresses; she knits; crochets and her favourite is cross stitch.  So we have many cross stitches adorning our walls.  This one is in Miss 12's room.

And this is in Miss 8's bedroom.

And this one sits high up in the dining room.

This is a new mirror for Miss 8's room for her birthday, matching her sister's mirror given on her birthday.

My Place and Yours - Outside

I'm playing along with Vic this week, taking a peek of what's outside.

Outside I looked over my neighbours fence and saw the bats.

Watched as the clouds rolled in for an afternoon storm.

And here's my cat, sitting on the front porch, she turned 17 years old last year.

My Place and Yours

I thought I'd play along at Vic's again this week and the theme for this week is Where You Sleep.   It started off as nice shade of green with pink trims and a pink ceiling, lino and a gorgeous plastic light shade and no light thanks to the renters.  One day I'll have to show you a few of the gruesome before photos, 10 years on we can giggle at them now but not at the time there were a few tears I have to say not really sure what we got ourselves into.  My room is simple, not too pretty since I have the hubby sharing it with me but I've crept a bit of floral in there for me.  

This ceramic cat door stop I've had since I was a teenager made for me by my Nan.

A bit of pretty mood lighting.  

A new light shade, loving it a lot more than the plastic.  

And my bed with gender neutral bed linen, the craft room is my space to make all girlie now.

My Place and Yours

The ever so cool Vic from Punky and Me is hosting a fun meme called My Place and Yours.  This week she asked us to show our pincushion.  I bought my well loved and pretty pincushion a couple of years ago at a Bristyle Mother and Child Market.  It was made by Moose and Bird and is just the right size to keep all my pins but I have to say some of them really should go in the bin they're a bit blunt, I'm not very good at doing that so I'm getting a bit of a collection. My Place and Yours - Kitchen Love

So today Nic and Tracey wanted us to show you what we love most about our kitchen at first I wasn't sure what to show because I don't really have any nic nacs I keep on show but then with a bit of thought I came up with my window and the view that I get out of the window of the backyard. When we renovated the house 6 years ago we put an extra room on the back (it was only a little 2 bedroom house) along with a deck. The deck comes off the kitchen so we put in a bifold window which is one thing we decided to spend the extra money on and we love it. Because the kitchen is at the back of the house I can be in there cooking dinner when the girls are outside playing and it's also a great space in summer to have dinner together.

My Place and Yours - What's in Your Bag!

I thought I would place along this week with Vic's meme. It was chosen by The Textured Leaf and she wants us to show what's in our bag. So here is what's inside my bag:
♥ my phone (thank you my darling hubby)
♥ my red Jag purse that I've had for ages now
♥ some tissues in a homemade tissue holder
♥ some chapstick
♥ hand sanitiser
♥ a post it note holder, looking a bit tatty after being tossed around (maybe I should make a new one)
All of these things are in my new Cath Kidson bag I finished making this morning, yipee a bit late on my January to do list but not tooo bad.
