We have been having a decent amount of rain which has been a blessing towards the end of a a very hot summer. Whilst hanging the washing on the line the tree next door caught my attention. So this afternoon in the moody light, I got my macro lens on and captured them.

20/365 Bubbles
I'm not someone who like soft drinks, it actually makes me feel a bit ill. I love water firstly, then tea but my fizzy drink of choice is kombucha. I must try and make it someday for myself..

19/365 Afternoon Delight
It was a usual busy Friday filled with all kinds of housework. When I was outside taking the washing off the line, I took my camera for a walk around the yard to capture the beautiful afternoon light. Happy weekend to you.

12/365 The last light of the day
Today was a busy day full of house cleaning and podcast listening which I enjoy. The busy day was followed by a relaxing cuppa and chat with my lovely neighbour, the perfect way to end the day I'd say.

11/365 Back to school ready
And just like that my youngest daughter is ready to head back to school in about a weeks time. I can't quite believe how fast those weeks have passed since school broke up last year. I am going to miss her smiley company, those sleep ins and the relaxed routine.

10/365 Summer skies
I do love the long days of Summer but the heat is not my favourite part of Summer. My favourite time of year is Autumn, the days cooling down after the warm Summer. I went for a little wander this afternoon as most of our day was spent at home. I stood for a moment and looked up to see the most beautiful blue sky and the green leaves of the jacaranda and thought I would share with you. I hope you have enjoyed your day today.

8/365 A day to relax
It was a warm day again today and with not much planned my youngest enjoyed her day relaxing and reading her new Christmas book.

7/365 Pretty in pink
It was a warm Summer day today and I was craving something cold in the form of a smoothie. My hubby obliged and brought home this 'pink forest' for me, yummo. I have to confess, I really love a good smoothie and probably spend a little bit too much on this habit! My other confession is that I am not too great at creating my own. I do have a standard flavour I stick to and do well with but deviating from that I don't do too well. Maybe I need to work on this, which won't be too hard and I'm sure my family won't mind either.

4/365 Elephant Rocks
It has been a very long time since we have made the long drive down to the coast, with my hubby on holidays and one very keen daughter we decided to go today. It was the perfect Summer's day, the sun was out, the sand was hot and the ocean was inviting.

Catching up
I have had these photos on my camera for the last week and haven't bothered to load them not because I didn't want to see them but because I am putting off dealing with my computer storage dwindling. Do you delete photos off your hard drive after you have copied them onto your external hard drive? I am curious how others maintain storage on their computer.
Anyway back to the photos. I took these last weekend when my little family and I went exploring Springbrook National Park. We got up late as we frequently do these days with a teenager in the house and made the drive south. Winding roads, overhanging trees, birds and the sound of fresh water, all those things make me smile and keep me happy. We walked and talked, we ate homemade sandwiches and they swam in the fresh water swimming hole, this is summer..
I will be back later with a special post, one to pause and remember my
Dad one year on.

Down by the bay
Our holidays are drawing to a close so I want to make the most of those long days where we don't have to be dictated by the clock. So I packed up some homemade banana choc chip bread, fruit, almonds, dates and water and we headed out together for the day. We went a bit of a walk together chatting and stopping for me to take photos then keeping with tradition ending our walk with food, fish and chips to be exact. How can you go by the water and not have them?? So we sat down under the shade of the tree and watched as people strolled by, happy dogs who had been swimming trotting along with what looked like a smile on their faces, with a nice bay breeze to keep us cool. Yes it was a good day, I like good days like these.

Ten on Ten/ January 2015
To keep me moving forwards toward my goal of a photography business I am making a conscious effort to take photos everyday. I didn't want to embark on another 365 project and put pressure on myself rather the odd photographic project like 10 on 10 to keep me focussed. I am hopefull it's something I can remember each month, I'm certainly going to try.... So this is what our day looked like today. I have included a couple of extra I was having trouble narrowing it down.
How has your Saturday the 10th of January been?
Joining Rebekah today.

Beach Adventuring
With hubby's holidays nearing their end and a beach trip still on our to do list we made the long drive north to the beach. We rose early so the weather would be cooler and the stroll along the beach a nice one. It was an overcast and our drive a rainy one in patches but went anyway. The beach was quieter when we arrived but there were still some young families enjoying the cool morning and warm water temperatures. Hubby and my youngest jumped and splashed and enjoyed the ocean whilst my oldest and myself sat and chatted and watched on. We did manage to get rained on but we dried off, the rain disappeared and we enjoyed that cooler walk. We all really enjoyed our day at the beach and then out to lunch up on the mountain. Taking time together getting out of the city and to the beach, back to some nature was just what we needed. I am though still feeling the need for some more exploring, I think a trip down the coast and into the rainforest might be in order.

356-361/365 'Friends, Family and Festivities"
And so just like that Christmas is over and done with for another year. The few days before Christmas kept me busy catching up with friends, last minute shopping and prepping the house for the family. Towards the end I was getting a little overwhelmed, wanting to get things done just so, making sure the girls gifts were bought and if I'm honest dreading the day just a little. Christmas can bring with it a bit of a mixed bag of emotions and this year well just wasn't the same without Dad... It became very obvious how tired I was with a few mishaps come Christmas morning. Little daughters got big daughters underwear in her stocking, I forgot to hand all the presents under the tree and then when my Miss 15 was swinging listening to her music I asked her why she wasn't using her new speaker?? What speaker Mum, I didn't get a speaker!! Said speaker was still under the tree even though I had collected other gifts left under there minutes earlier hahah. They were both good about my mishaps thankfully. Otherwise the day went well, everyone one was happy, we came together to be with each other and everyone went home tired and well fed. Today has been a quiet one, not doing very much at all with the weather being so wet it's been perfect to catch up on some relaxation.
How was your Christmas? I hope it was a happy one spent with those you love.
